Windows font for graphics 15?

Recommended Posts

I draw graphics 15 screens with Photoshop and I convert them to Atari .mic format with G2F.

Does someone have a Windows font (or a tip) to insert little letters (Atari standard font or similar) in this 2 pixel wide graphic mode?

Now I draw them pixel by pixel!

There's an Atari font for Windows that someone converted - I can't remember where I got it from or if I still have it. I have the slight feeling though that it came from an AtariAge members website.

But, pretty sure it was 1:1 ratio only and not 2:1 like the hires mc modes. Although I guess you could work around that problem by pasting into a work window and resizing each time.

Hey Philsan,

can you describe a little how you use the 2pixel wide brush with Photoshop? Photoshop is really complex and I never figured out how to setup a 2px raster/2pixel wide brush.

thanks a lot!

If you mean how to have 2 pixel wide brush, you have to go in the Image/Pixel something (I don't know the exact words because I use Italian version) menu and set a factor of 2.

My problem is that I can use many Windows standard fonts but it is impossible to use little sizes because of the 2 pixel wide pixels.

Easy workaround...

1. Use an Atari based program in an emulator to type your text in gr. 15 or a related mode (any "antic 4" character editor will do fine).

2. Use "print screen" or "save image" to capture the image.

3. Create a new document in Photoshop, and copy/paste the text from this document over to your drawing/picture.

Good idea. Here is what I do.

With BBK Artist, I load an Antic 4 font found in Touch Edit II or another one found in Atari 8-bit forever site, I write the text, I save a screenshot with Atari800WinPlus, I load it in PS, I halve horizontal size, I copy and past the text into my 160x192 picture.
