PacManPlus
Hello: I am building a joystick similar to Voltman3's - but I need to know what resistor values will give me the center values of the pots used... Does anybody know this? For instance, the PC analog joystick needs approx. 50k resistor for center, and 100K for the opposite end (I know - the actual values are a little higher) Thanks in advance for your help! Voltman3
Hi, Bob Charles here, I used 250K center. FYI- I found out if you leave the R/D and or L/U open ended, meaning no resistance U/D L/R QIX, Ms Pacman and Vanguard will have very poor control. Like with the Masterplay. I added 5k Left & Up. And 450k Right&Down this will give the 5200 some resistance to aknowledge and those games will work fine. I will add a diagram to show how it's done eventually. I am sure there are several guys here who can figure it tho'. Btw, I built an Asteroids controller yesterday, a paddle with arcade buttons for Thrust, Shield, and Fire. It works, but you have to re-center the paddle to stop the ship from turning, also, the ship delays in stopping. Makes it tough, to use still. If someone could hack the L/R control data from- Meteorites? Maybe that would cure it ! It is still difficult to use but better than a CX52Paddle. I will try another one, with just buttons to see if that'll work? Later,
PacManPlus
Hey Charles! BTW - The carts work great! and so does the Paddle!!! Thanks so much for the help on this - I'll give pics as well once I'm finished... (I think I'm going to use a wico-type ball-top leaf switch joystick instead, though...)
