Well I discovered last night the Angry Nintendo Nerd, and I'm assuming this is the same person that I've seen called the Angry Video Game Nerd?? Damn this guy is hilarious. I wish I would have thought to do something like this.

Yes, same person. Angry Nintendo Nerd was when he first started and only reviewed Nintendo carts, but later became Angry Video Game Nerd and expanded to all consoles.

Just don't be surprised if you hear the Nintendo Nerd speaking through the Irate gamer, as Irate's something of a rip-off artist... but if James doesn't have enough videos for you, he's like the cheap prostitute who pretends to be the celebrity you crush on...

James is the original in this game, all the others (including the Happy Nerd) are simply bad knockoffs.

 

I personally love the hell out of him. He goes through ALL the shitty games I had to suffer through when I was a kid as well. I bought Dragon's Lair thinking it looked great, but got SO mad at that pile of crap.

 

Seriously, though, all the haters are really just jealous that he's reached a huge amount of success. I say more power to him. Too bad I didn't get any of my comments in the Deadly Towers video, though.

I actually used to enjoy both their reviews until James started dragging religion into some of his videos with as much talent as he has he didn't need to go there. With that said i look at the raging AVGN/Irate Gamer debate like this there is no "ripping off" that i can see what i do see is simply two people with approaching the same subject with different styles much like the evening news, channel 2, 4, and 11 all have the 6-o-clock news right? and they are all reporting on the same stories right? so basically you have three choices it all depends which presentation you like best.

 

The AVGN reviews i did like were Ghostbusters, Friday the 13th, Nightmare on Elm St., Bugs Bunny's Birthday Blow Out, and the 5200 review.

On the Irate Gamer side I liked Jaws,Tetris,Super Mario 2, E.T. and Yo Noid.

 

Also Jess Ragan has absolutely incredible reviews up on Youtube! http://www.youtube.com/user/TheGameroomBlitz they are well worth a look

Try zeropunctuation at the Escapist if you want to see someone tear apart bad games and bad ideas without stealing James' shtick. It can be done...

Seriously, though, I've had my say about the Angry Nintendo Nerd in the past. In a funny sort of way, James inspired me to make my own videos, because I disliked his style tremendously and decided to make reviews the way I thought they should be made.

I'm not the biggest fan of AVGN, but I watch his videos all the same. I think his schtick gets old after a while, but if you don't like him, don't watch him. The guy isn't going to destroy society just because he got famous. We aren't talking about Paris Hilton here.

He won't convince me to hate a game (Castlevania II doesn't suck that bad!) but I enjoy his videos for entertainment purposes. He's pretty funny but I think he could scale back the decibel level. Sometimes he'll shout out a string of profanities at the top of his lungs and it's just annoying.

Hahaha....When he was out in New Jersey making an appearance. I triped him when he was acting like a ignoramus and was constantly cursing with his buffoon friends. Parents told him to calm down in front of children. Personally, I feal cursing just help shows an individuals ignorance!

 

Anyway, he tried to act tough. Yet, he left embarrassed. I always felt that the Angry Video Game Nerd was nothing more then a "Chump", and I guess my theory was correct.

I think his stuff is funny and never miss an episode, but still find that hilarious. If he was acting stupid in front of a bunch of kids then he deserved it. It's great to do your act on the internet but when you have children around then you need to tone it down. Those kids look up to him and that is definitely not a good example to be setting. I wish I could have seen that.

Yeah, it's probably the fact that he got this sudden internet fame and he doesn't know how to handle it in the real world. He probably trys to put on a show when out in public to keep his fans entertained. I have heard a couple radio interviews with him and he acted like a normal guy. Either way I'll continue watching his shows and laughing my ass off.

Wow, sorry to say this, but you're an asshole. It's really too bad someone didn't bust you in the mouth. This is the first time I've ever heard of anyone saying he's anything but a super nice guy in person. Everyone has bad days. If he was showing up in character, his fans sort of expect him to act like that, and, since I also really hate kids, they can just fuck right off, and so can the parents. Just like M rated games, his show is NOT intended for children, and it's the parent's responsibilty to make sure they don't see it. Seriously, I used to think you were allright until reading this.
