Heaven/TQA #1 Posted August 23, 2008 http://atari.fandal.cz/detail.php?files_id=5842 the sound track sounds like in a hall...how is this done as I haven't heard such often with POKEY? (appologise, I haven't checked the source)
miker #2 Posted August 23, 2008 I bet it's done using 2 channels - second just just after the first. It can be easily done in any music editor - just avoid using the same volume at once.
Rybags #3 Posted August 23, 2008 The car sound seems to augment the "effect". Plus, the tune has some chords that give a kind of "hall" effect. If you get rid of the car SFX, it sounds more normal. Monitor > C D207 00 then, remove the STA $D207 > C A1AB EA EA EA
Fire Button #4 Posted August 24, 2008 Ugh. That wasn't the best of gaming experiences. Anyway - I think that the best terminology for this effect is reverb. It can be done with at least 2 channels or more. It basically means that one channel is allowed to finish their note while another starts playing. The sustain length of a note pretty much decides how 'roomy' it sounds. I can't say it's a new trick, it's been used in a fair number of games and demos. E.g. listen to the music that this demo starts with, better known as "The Entertainer" by Scott Joplin (not quite sure which game the music comes from). Fire Button #6 Posted August 25, 2008 Sounds like it was ripped from Nadral: http://www.atarimania.com/detail_soft-MENU...ON_ID-3651.html That's it, you got it. I even remember playing it, but the title must've been with those braincells I washed away with the beers I had between then and now.
Cybernoid #7 Posted August 25, 2008 Is the music any different from the music in Moon Patrol? http://www.atarimania.com/detail_soft.php?...VERSION_ID=8606
