FS: Laserdisc hardware, laserdiscs, S-VHS VCR

Recommended Posts

I need to get rid of some stuff, as usual. I've accumulated way too much AV gear that I never use. Also I've realized that I'm not a movie geek like I thought - I just don't like to watch movies over and over and I don't have people over often enough to show off my sweet library. So I'm selling the following items. The hardware all worked the last time I used it; the laserdiscs are all in pretty good shape though some are gently used ex-rentals.

Shipping will be from 46032.

JVC HR-S3800U SVHS VCR - $35

I've probably watched an hour of video on this since I bought it a couple years ago. It didn't eat that tape. Otherwise I used the VCR for changing channels on my TV.

Yamaha DDP-1 AC-3 Decoder - $30

This decoder works great on laserdiscs with AC-3 output on a player with AC-3 output (like the one listed below). It automatically detects the surround sound source, and automatically decodes it.

AC-3 RF input

AC-3 optical digital input

AC-3 coaxial digital input

5.1 discrete audio outputs

ProScan PSLD46 Laserdisc Player - $120

This is the best laserdisc player I've ever owned (I've probably had 10). I have a feeling that $120 is a steal for this player. It has about every bell and whistle you could want out of a laserdisc player. I've watched many movies on this without any problem.

AC-3 RF out

AC-3 optical digital audio out

2 S-video out ports

2 video out ports

2 sets of stereo out ports

VHF adapter ports

auto-switches sides of the laserdisc

comes with original remote

I've noted special features when I spotted them as I went through the stack. If I didn't list a special feature (i.e. widescreen) - I may have not noticed it on the sleeve. I've categorized these discs according to my whim.
