Currently looking for a Jag w a few Qs.

I'm currently looking for a Jaguar. I have Wolf3D and DooM for it, but no system to play them on! I got the games because I found them locally, they were not overpriced and they guy had lots of other games I wanted for Saturn etc so I just picked it all up together. I knew someday I would have a Jaguar because I've always wanted one!

 

I've found a few cheap ones on EBAY that are JUST the system and a controller, no hookups.

 

I know you can use almost any RF adapter and actually get better picture anyway

 

But what about the power adapter? I have many other systems and was wondering if any other common adapters happened to work??

 

That would help save money when finding a system on EBAY and would be nice since I don't want the RF adapter anyway.

Almost 100% sure a Genesis MODEL ONE (1) power adapter, not model 2... works on the Jag.

The Genesis Model 1 PS has the same basic specs as the Jag PS - 9V DC 1.2A / tip negative.

 

MN12BIRD - don't go blowing up your Jaguar by plugging in a 9V AC power supply...

Be especially careful about the polarity of your adapter. Most adapters use the reverse of what the Jaguar expects, and using the wrong polarity will fry your console.

Spend the extra ten or twenty dollars to get a tested and complete system. You should be able to eBay a working Jaguar with a power supply, controller, RF cable, and a couple of commons for maybe $50 plus shipping.

Yeah, I second that. Chances are high that this item does not work. I would go for a tested and 100% working unit if I were you. You can get good deals if you watch out for a while. Sooner or later you get it for a good price.

Doesn't matter now. I got one coming, all the hookups and a few games.

DooM, Wolf3D, Alien VS Predator and something else like Tempest or something.
