MN12BIRD #1 Posted September 2, 2008 Hey guys. I'm new to the site. I was born in 1981 so I did miss the whole Atari, Coleco, Intellivision era but my uncle did let me borrow his 2600 and games in 1988 and I played it for a year before I got my NES. I'm now a fan of video game history and also a collector of sorts. I've recently picked up a few 2600 models and games! I have a YouTube site in witch I review old video game consoles and games too. Its mainly NES to Dreamcast era BUT I have make a video about my 2600 also! Here is my video in case any of you wish to watch it. http://ca.youtube.com/watch?v=2zWyagQciNg Its one of my first videos. Hope you enjoy it. Thanks, Jake

MN12BIRD #4 Posted September 2, 2008 (edited) My uncle had a crap load of games and controllers inc the Pong wheel things. I remember one game above all. It was called Phoenix IIRC. I played the hell out of that one when I was a kid! Pole Position was also an awesome game he had. Edited September 2, 2008 by MN12BIRD
Philflound #5 Posted September 4, 2008 Vintage video games are an acquired taste. With all the new stuff out there with some extraordinary technology and graphics, it's very primitive. It's good you played it when you were young, even if the system wasn't. It has given you the ability to appreciate where we've come from and how far we've come in the way of video games. And with the variety out there, you're never bored. Welcome to the site and hopefully you'll get alot out of it. Feel free to ask any other questions. Sayton #6 Posted September 4, 2008 Cool, I've watched a few of your vids. I've got a YouTube channel as well, with most of them being Atari 2600 related. Welcome by the way!
Ross PK #7 Posted September 4, 2008 (edited) Welcome to Atariage, Jake. I subscribed to your channel quite a long time ago. In fact the first ever vid of yours that I saw was the 2600 one. Edited September 4, 2008 by Ross PK
PressureCooker2600 #8 Posted September 4, 2008 At least you know your roots and respect the good stuff. Most people nowadays wouldn't even know an Atari 2600 if you shoved it in their face. "Atari?????? What's that.....???? A new dishwasher?" Welcome.
aftermac #9 Posted September 4, 2008 Hey guys. I'm new to the site. I was born in 1981 so I did miss the whole Atari, Coleco, Intellivision era... I was born in 1979, so I missed the first set of console wars, too... Though, my first system was a 2600 Jr. (which I still have) in 1987, after it was re-released at $50. Welcome to AtariAge.
