Reaperman #2 Posted September 10, 2008 Check out the pics and vid on Amazon. Interesting! http://www.amazon.com/KORG-DS-10-Synthesiz...992&sr=1-61 it was amazing until I tried to use it. Then I realized that I'd either need real talent, or simply to quit my job to devote enough time to properly using it.

joeybastard #4 Posted September 11, 2008 (edited) I'm definitely picking this up, I can get lost playing around with stuff like that. I actually have a homebrew sequencer/synth for the DS but it doesn't work so well with my card. It's very hit and miss. ianoid #5 Posted September 12, 2008 I can't say no to that. And then there's My Japanese Coach. Both items I have that fear that they will be hard to get if I don't buy them new. Stupid me! I should wait. I don't know how long I can hold out on the Korg thing. I'll probably just buy it new. I guess I'll just hook it up to Garageband to record it. goodwill_gamer #6 Posted September 13, 2008 yes, this is a really cool synth. but you really need to be familiar with step sequencing and analog synths to do much with this. it also has a kaos pad, which is really cool. i plan on using it on some music in the future. but yeah, much cooler than the synth/sequencer on gameboy camera. CGQuarterly #7 Posted December 30, 2008 Anyone pick this one up? I found it today at GameCrazy (seems to be the only B&M that is selling it) but haven't had much of a chance to play with it yet. I wanted to hurry up and buy it for the exact reason that Ianoid said. I felt like if I didn't grab it now, it was going to end up being $80 on eBay. Reaperman #8 Posted December 30, 2008 I found it today at GameCrazy (seems to be the only B&M that is selling it) but haven't had much of a chance to play with it yet. seems like the Play N Trade chain is also stocking it, so it's around. Haven't seen it at the biggest game sellers though, like gamestop and walmart.
CGQuarterly #9 Posted December 30, 2008 I found it today at GameCrazy (seems to be the only B&M that is selling it) but haven't had much of a chance to play with it yet. seems like the Play N Trade chain is also stocking it, so it's around. Haven't seen it at the biggest game sellers though, like gamestop and walmart. From what I have read online, apparently most of the major retailers are not carrying it because it is $40 and "not even a game". If you know anything about this kind of stuff, $40 is a steal for what you are getting. Try going out and buying the real thing and see how much it costs you! For $40 you get to mess around with it and make some pretty awesome sounding stuff, and if you get really in to it then who knows, you could go out and buy a KAOSS pad or a Kaossilator and really get in to it. This is kind of OT, but I had a really bad experience this holiday season trying to find some basic stuff at the B&M stores. I ended up doing a lot of my holiday shopping online because the stuff that I needed was either non-existent or overpriced at the local stores. Add to that the fact that I had to go into about 5 stores before I could find a copy of the Korg DS-10 (not because it was sold out but because the stores were simply not carrying it), and I think I am rapidly switching over to an online-dominant shopping scheme. I am trying to feel bad that so many stores are either in financial trouble or going out of business entirely (mainly because I feel very bad that people are losing their jobs), but the people that run these stores are doing a poor job of meeting the needs of their shoppers. Amazon had their best Christmas season ever this year, so it isn't like people aren't spending money (although it is admittedly probably less than in previous years), they are just finding other places to spend it. Why go out and deal with the hassles involved in shopping at the B&M's when I can do it all from the comfort of my couch, get the stuff shipped to my house for free, and get it all tax free. If it hadn't been for the fact that GameCrazy had a copy of DS-10, I would have purchased it on Amazon. sorry for the OT rant. Chris
