Rik #1 Posted September 10, 2008 (edited) Hi,i picked up 2600 Montezumas's revenge a week ago, awesome game!!It seems like if you use the keys unecessarily, you end up with not enough keys to get to treasure room,to get to next level, and i am stuck,is that the way its supposed to be?Its seems weird that you cant advance just because you have no keys left to get to treasure rooms. The instructions dont say.Thanx Edited September 10, 2008 by Rik
Vic George 2K3 #2 Posted September 10, 2008 That's why you got to search every room possible in order to get all the keys you need to complete a level.
littleman jack #3 Posted September 14, 2008 And only open one of the doors in the first room. Leave the other closed. Otherwise you've probably used up your keys too early. I always open the left door, however, a friend of mine always opens the right door.

Lord Thag #5 Posted September 15, 2008 Yeah, I believe you get stuck. It's one of those (fun) trial and error games. Remember the days when you had to draw maps?
Rik #6 Posted September 15, 2008 Yeah, I believe you get stuck. It's one of those (fun) trial and error games. Remember the days when you had to draw maps? Yeah,im in the process of drawing a map for it,kind of fun actually.Back in the day, before the internet, one couldnt get the pro drawn maps like the ones for pitfall 1&2.There might be one for M.R. godzillajoe #7 Posted September 15, 2008 I didn't think it was possible to get stuck, thought you could always find a key somewhere if you needed one. I never really pay attention to what I'm doing andf don't remember having this problem Been a while since I "seriously" played the game though.
doubledown #8 Posted September 15, 2008 (edited) There's maps right here on AA: http://www.atariage.com/2600/archives/stra...nge_Level1.html Edited September 15, 2008 by doubledown
littleman jack #9 Posted September 15, 2008 Yea, there seems to be a limited amount of keys, which means that you can get stuck, and then you can only start over. It's like that with the sword as well. You can only use it on certain creatures. It's all trial and error, which makes it one of the most difficult 2600 games by far.
