Retro Rogue #3 Posted September 12, 2008 That's what happens when you don't remove the cellophane from around a box. It starts doing an imitation of a black hole, like that E.T. box.
ATARIPITBULL #4 Posted September 12, 2008 What is sad is that some one new to collecting Atari 2600 items might believe this ad and think they are getting rare games.

lemoncurry #7 Posted September 12, 2008 I remember my parents and others referring to Atari carts as "tapes" way back in the day. Must be because the whole "stick the box in a slot" milieu was evocative of the old 8 track tapes.

Must be because the whole "stick the box in a slot" milieu was evocative of the old 8 track tapes. I know, I was just busting chops a little bit... yes I remember in High School we called them Atari tapes... it made totally perfect sense at the time since the only other objects around were cassette tapes for your walkman or 8tracks for your dad's car "stereo" so it is a common relational term... of course the Fairchild Channel F's used 8 track type plastic cases for their carts, so they really did look like "tapes".
