I need help modding something will pay cash!

I have this crazy idea to put a Game Boy SP into an Original Game Boy Case, I would not need the extra L & R buttons and the only things that would need to be done is relocate the cart slot to where the one for the Original Game Boy is and I think just move the A/C port to where the original game boy has its EXT port, I only want this to play Original GB games I dont care if I lose the GBA compatibility.

That is a neat idea for a project. Probably wouldn't be too hard either. Is the screen area big enough to accommodate the SP screen though? The original Gameboy is the only one I don't have!

yes you would use the SP screen along with its screen protector...

Working on this, the first issue I come to is the cartridge slot. The less case modification on the outside the better. This means that larger gameboy color carts would either stick up (but advance carts would not) or the case would need major modification.

After doing several hours work on this, I'd have to say it isn't worth doing for a little money, and the amount of money the job would warrent isn't what the end result would be worth. Does that make sence?

I've been looking our on ebay for the very rare silver backlit original gameboy that came out only in Japan.

 

That would be so cool. hell, I'd pay for a backlit gameboy pocket color. I love the feel of it. the screen sucks ass though.

that changes things dramatically since then you don't have to accommodate the GBA carts which is what ax was probably having the most trouble with.

 

hey, I want one of these too!! except I want mine in a gameboy pocket case lol!!
