+Random Terrain #376 Posted July 8, 2010 I played the Crackdown 2 demo yesterday. I think I like it better than the first, but it's hard to tell since my abilities were fairly low when the time ran out.
xg4bx #377 Posted July 13, 2010 beat mass effect 2 this morning,. took me about 20 hours which included doing everything except completely exploring the universe and getting achievements. holy sh*t what a great game.
Karyyk #378 Posted July 13, 2010 I played the 30 minute Crackdown 2 demo, decided that I can't tell that much of a difference between it and Crackdown 1 and will wait to get it on Goozex when it's 200 points. Then I played Mass Effect 2...much better use of my time. Hmmm, I think it's ME2 time now...
xg4bx #379 Posted July 14, 2010 I played the 30 minute Crackdown 2 demo, decided that I can't tell that much of a difference between it and Crackdown 1 and will wait to get it on Goozex when it's 200 points. Then I played Mass Effect 2...much better use of my time. Hmmm, I think it's ME2 time now... i don't know what it is but mass effect 2 is absolutely addictive, it's pretty much all i played until i beat it. but for the life of me i can't truly get into the first one. i'm giving it yet another shot because i'd like to replay me2 with my own Shepard but it's really slow going. me2 is pretty much a perfect game imo. the climax is truly brilliant. +Cafeman #380 Posted July 29, 2010 Thanks to these newfangled "downloadable games", I got 2 great games this week: 1. Earthworm Jim HD -- I think its a fantastic HD port of the original Jim, its still lots of fun , but now with crystal-clear colors, more details, and great surround sound. Caf jr beat the game twice already, I got to Level 5 and then got sleepy, will play more some other day. There are bonus levels which aren't as good but are still nice to fool around with; multiplayer also adds some fun. The bad: the hidden "darkness" level, accessed in Level 5, seems to have been cut out. There is also no Big Bruty level (from the Sega CD version), but the Sega CD extra sections of New Junk City *are* in the game. 2. Hydro Thunder Hurricane -- I actually just downloaded the demo, then immediately purchased the whole game, this evening. It is FANTASTIC! I've only unlocked 3 boats and 3 courses but I can say , without doubt, this is a Hydro Thunder fan's wish come true. Similar to Nintendo's Wave Race games, you gotta take the wake and rolling waves more into consideration here. For example, a huge wave will get created by falling boulders , and it affects gameplay. davepesc #381 Posted July 30, 2010 Assassin's Creed Got it for $6 at Gamestop (50% off + 10% off) I can see where it's a bit repetitive, but at least you're repeating things that are fun to do. The atmosphere in the cities is great. I'm a completionist with games like this, so I do all of the investigation missions before the main assassination and I'm searching for all the flags. I'm sure I'll need a guide for a few flags, but not until I'm done with the game. I'll probably check out the sequel after this.
+Gemintronic #383 Posted August 1, 2010 (edited) Sacred 2. Even though I just experienced a game breaking bug and had to start over. Thinking of moving back to Oblivion. Grind at work. Grind at home. Edited August 1, 2010 by theloon
xg4bx #384 Posted August 2, 2010 beat dragon age and i'm vaguely disappointed. it's a solid game but the storytelling wasn't as good as mass effect. quests in dragon age just kinda felt like a chore. started plugging away at deadly premonition again, i still can't tell if it's genius or the worst thing i ever played. Tickled_Pink #385 Posted August 5, 2010 Now back to playing Pac-Man C.E. Great game but it's getting damned irritating.
Karyyk #386 Posted August 6, 2010 I just played Castlevania: Harmony of Despair earlier, and my feelings about it are pretty mixed. While it's good to see a new 2D Castlevania game, the game almost forces you to play multiplayer. There's no story, no new characters, it's just a mash-up of old sprites it seems. It plays pretty well, and could be fun in multiplayer, but it just seems like a really lazy effort on Konami's part. Other than that, I've played some Game Room (Beamrider!), Halo 3 and Dead Void in the last couple of days...
moycon #387 Posted August 6, 2010 i still can't tell if it's genius or the worst thing i ever played. After beating Crackdown 2 I've been playing...G.I. Joe The Rise of Cobra. Don't laugh.
+HammR25 #388 Posted August 8, 2010 Picked up Frontlines Fuel of War and Rainbow Six Vegas used at Gamestop for $5 and $3 respectively. I figure it won't matter if either one of them sucks at those prices.
Zeptari1 #389 Posted August 9, 2010 Picked up Frontlines Fuel of War and Rainbow Six Vegas used at Gamestop for $5 and $3 respectively. I figure it won't matter if either one of them sucks at those prices. I can't speak for Rainbow Six... But i had a good time with Frontlines... I only paid about $6 for it when Game Crazy went out of business earlier this year. Maybe we can get together some time and do some of the multiplayer achievements.. -rick

moycon #392 Posted August 9, 2010 actually really liked gi joe, its a fun, arcade-style shooter. Heh, Glad I'm not the only one! The best part was, I snagged it for like $10 from Target on clearance. Better than expected for sure.

Spoon #398 Posted August 20, 2010 I've gotten back to playing the original Puzzle Quest. I can only play it for a few days before all I see are rows of gems when I close my eyes. After about a week, it haunts my dreams. Picked up a couple of achievements on it today...reached level 50 and forged a godlike item. Only two I have left are to defeat Bane and win a match online.
