Vic George 2K3 #429 Posted October 5, 2010 Currently trying out my Xbox 360 and Wii with my new 18.5-inch HDTV. Just need HDMI cables to test out how the Xbox 360 graphics look on it. So far I just have it hooked up through an RF adapter, which makes it look good, but also very flat.

JamesD #431 Posted October 6, 2010 (edited) Currently trying out my Xbox 360 and Wii with my new 18.5-inch HDTV. Just need HDMI cables to test out how the Xbox 360 graphics look on it. So far I just have it hooked up through an RF adapter, which makes it look good, but also very flat. Mine looks good on my 19" HDTV but you don't want to be very far away. Everything is tiny. <edit> I normally opt for using it on my 37". Edited October 6, 2010 by JamesD
JamesD #432 Posted October 10, 2010 I've been playing trial games. Deathspank, and Blade Kitten seem pretty decent.
rxd #433 Posted October 11, 2010 After having Prey sitting on my shelf unopened for years I started playing it the other day. Vastly under rated game...
moycon #434 Posted October 11, 2010 Vastly under rated game... I dunno if I'd call it under rated.. Everyone and their brother played that game when it was released 4 years ago. The servers were packed with players, and the reviews were excellent as well. IGN gave it a 9/10 Game Informer a 9.5/10. It was considered as a success shortly after it was released and a sequel was announced. (Still anxiously waiting on that though) The huge sale of games Steam offered to consumers shortly after Xmas last year included Prey and they ran out of keys for that particular game in a matter of minutes. Under rated? I myself don't think so. The best part is these days the game (like many other kick ass early 360 games) can be had for like $10!! Granted the online servers are all but dead now. Still... I try to get folks together to play online every now and again. In addition to a kick ass campaign, the online is actually really fun as well. xg4bx #435 Posted October 11, 2010 Lords of Shadow, Enslaved and finally got a gold XBL account so I'm playing Reach online, I'm shocked that I'm actually pretty good at it.
cimerians #436 Posted October 11, 2010 Spider-Man Web of Shadows Its not all that great but strangely addictive at times. Spidey sounds like a 10 year old annoying little sh*t I'm almost 40 years old, I cant ever recall Spiderman ever sounding like a 5 year old crying for candy. +Random Terrain #437 Posted October 11, 2010 I played again the other day. If you use the elevators as soon as possible, it's a lot more fun. Problem is that although the game has teleporters that allow you to jump back up to the top, you can't teleport down to any of the teleporters, so you have to ride elevators all the way back down. Not fun. If we could select any of the teleporters we have found and jump down to one, the game would be a lot more fun. I'm probably done with this game. It just takes too darn long to get back down.

Christophero Sly #445 Posted October 16, 2010 Finally getting around to Mass Effect. It's been a slow start (I'm just about to leave the Citadel), and I'm disappointed. The similarities to KOTOR within the narrative structure are obvious, but I'm not really being pulled into this game's particular mythos. It's coming off like a bad mix of Star Trek: TNG and Buck Rogers. The interface is a borderline disaster, if you ask me, and combat is, consequently, pretty clunky. The voice acting is good. Unfortunately, my character seems to be the weakest link in that regard. I'm hoping that the plot takes off soon, and that it will be compelling enough to carry me through to the end because I don't believe that the game's RPG elements are going to contribute much towards that outcome. We shall see.

moycon #448 Posted October 26, 2010 I've been playing Unreal Tournament III. Just playing the bots. Wow this game must be some sort of sleeper. Another of my friends (AAer JagMX) was recently seen playing URIII. It's such an awesome game. I don't think it got the recognition it deserved when it came out which surprised me. It dropped in price like the month after it was released. Now it can be had for like $10.
liveinabin #449 Posted October 26, 2010 Picked up Fallout: New Vegas on Friday. I've clocked 32 hours so far (this is not usual for me but I'm loving it). Glad I altered my preorder from the PS3 version. My Fallout 3 on PS3 used to crash every hour or so. Not a single crash so far on New Vegas. Guess it's always wise to buy it for the host system. If you want death match action, it's one of the best games out there. But then I loved Quake III Arena. At $10 it's a steal!
