davepesc #802 Posted June 25, 2012 I jumped in on some of the Games on Demand games that are on sale now. Conan totally flew under the radar for me until people pointed it out. It's an awesome game for $4!!!! Once I leveled up and earned some additional combat moves, it's becoming a really fun game! and who know the level of nudity in a video game! nude girls running around everywhere! Also picked up Dark Void for $5 and may pick up Prince of Persia: The Forgotten Sands for the same $5. I'd pick up a few GoD at those prices, but I can't spare the hard drive space. The only Games on Demand I have is Fable 2, which I downloaded when they had it up for free for a short while before Fable 3 came out. A mistake, I'm sure. Bank error in my favor! Of course I'm biased when it comes to barbarian games but I thought Conan was pretty good for under 20 bucks. For a cheap beat em' up you can't go wrong. Combat in that game can be quite engaging. When you beat the game you unlock God mode and can replay as many times as you want without fear of dying and just kill stuff by Crom.
onlysublime #804 Posted June 25, 2012 will I be able to keep my abilities when I do the harder difficulties? it's maddening to accumulate the cool moves over the course of the campaign?
+Cafeman #805 Posted June 25, 2012 Started to play Split Second. Graphics are excellent, but I can't tell if its any fun yet. Is it?

+Cafeman #811 Posted June 27, 2012 I've played through all the events in the first two 'episodes' altready, so I went back last night to retry some to get better placements, and finally, I started to feel the fun! I like how you can activate side-explosions (blow oppenents' cars hard to the left/right and possibly wrecking them), and also you can activate events like a huge crane taking a swipe at cars or a metal girder falling onto the track, and ALSO you can activate short-cuts - a metal grate lowers down for you to drive over as a little bridge, or a tunnel in the mountainside opens up for a short time. Lots of stuff going on to play with. But trying to wreck other cars can cause you to wreck yourself if your timing is not correct - its a lot more fun once you get past the initial learning curve and start to comprehend how to win. I literally LOL'd when an oppenent destroyed me by activating a huge plane to slide slowly across the track, crushing my car! The sense of speed is great yet you have time to react, and the visuals are extremely high quality, although the tracks (so far) all seem to re-use many of the same graphical assets. Actually, all the flashes and colored lighting FX kind of bother me (after all , I'm used to retro-gaming more) but I'm trying to adjust to these new-fangled flashy graphical FX. MagitekAngel #812 Posted June 28, 2012 Soon as I get anywhere near my 360, I'm going to try out Otomedius Excellent, which I snagged in the bargain bin at Wal-Mart for 16 dollars. Mixed reviews or not, I think I'll get my money's worth.

cybercylon #814 Posted July 25, 2012 I've been playing the Orange Box. I missed this the first time around. Amusing how Gamestop sells this for $25 used, but a local outfit was selling new copies for $19.99.

Seob #821 Posted August 10, 2012 Played trough the main story line of l.a. noire. That game has a nice 40-50 vibe. It took me a while to figure out how to interview the suspects succesfully.
Mendon #822 Posted August 10, 2012 I never got around to playing any of the Gears of War's games, but for whatever reason, I recently started & finished the original GoW and really, really liked it. So now I'm almost done with GoW2 and will start GoW3 next. I really like the storyline, the characters, and gameplay. In fact, I like the GoW series so much, I bought the first two novels in the series by Karen Travis and am enjoying those also as they go along with the games and flesh out the story/characters. +Cafeman #823 Posted August 10, 2012 Just tried out PGR4 for first time, raced about 10 races. Also a little bit of Spelunky.
Atariboy #824 Posted August 11, 2012 I need to return to PGR4 someday. Got a good ways through it several years ago and got sidetracked with something else and haven't gotten back to it. Seemed like a very nice game.
+Cafeman #825 Posted August 11, 2012 PGR4's motorcycle mode has the extreme horizon-tilt first seen in SEGA's Manx TT. I haven't played enough of it to compare against PGR1 or PGR2's gameplay yet.
