What Xbox 360 game are you currently playing?

Recommended Posts

A buddy and I have started to re-play every Halo game in a lead-up to the big Halo 4 launch. We decided to work through the games in 'game universe' chronological order, starting with Reach. Already over half way through Reach and I'm absolutely loving being able to revist these great games!

We realize that Halo Wars is actually the first game within canon, but we felt that the games we wanted to be sure we hit were Reach and Halo: CE thrugh Halo 3. That's a lot of games for us old folks to get through in a relatively short amount of time (and we're actually hoping to be finished by the time Forward Unto Dawn launches). So we're keeping Halo Wars as a nice 'side' game to break up all of the FPS goodness. Then we'll end on ODST if we can. We've also already played through all of the 360 titles on Legendary with the exception of the anniversary CE, so that's the only one we're planning on playing in Legendary this go through. That's saving a hell of a lot of time! But it's more about reimmersiving ourselves in the universe right now.

I've been getting into NBA Jam on the 360. I forgot how much fun it is :)

I need to return to PGR4 someday. Got a good ways through it several years ago and got sidetracked with something else and haven't gotten back to it.

Seemed like a very nice game.

I miss the PGR games. Wish they'd make more.

*high five* my friends and I are doing this as well. playing Reach, then Anniversary, then 2, then 3. Already went through Reach and Anniversary in co-op. Haven't started 2 but friends got itchy and we jumped into 4-player co-op campaign for Halo 3. I wish that Halo 2 supported system link co-op so that my friends and I can play that together over the Internet.

That's great! Yea, there's not another series I would probably do this for, but for Halo it almost seemed like a no-brainer! It's nice to because my buddy never had an original Xbox back in the day (seems kind of weird saying 'back in the day' when referring to the Xbox!), so this will be his first time playing CE and 2. If you see us in a game and are bored should me a note!

I got back into deathsmiles 2. Apparently I used to be amazing at the game... I can't break 2 bil for the life of me.

Still playing Dead Island, the GOTY version. Hey, it's just kick ass cool IMO. I want to like Skyrim, but to much stuff is still broken on it, and as near as I can tell, there is no effort to fix it (unless it's graphical, comeon, that graphical stuff isn't what is breaking the game)

I was thinking of doing this too, but for whatever reason xbox 1 games that I know to work suddenly stopped working on my 360. Did they remove BC in a dash update?

I don't think so. My buddy didn't already have the original CE, so I went ahead and purchased the Anniversary Edition so it'd be easier for him to pick it up at the store, could just play over Xbox Live, etc. But this is interesting....'cause we're about half way through CE, so H2 is coming up relatively soon! I'll have to throw that in ahead of time just to check.

Probably dumb question, but are you now playing CE on a box that doesn't have a hard drive?

Oh, as far as this thread is concerned....threw in Civ: Revolutions. Love that game! I didn't want to start one of my backlogged games while my buddy and I still have the Halo games to get through, and I still have a bunch of the civilizations left that I haven't had a play through with yet, so that worked out nice. I'm almost done dominating with the Chinese. Huh, I'd swear that my tanks get destroyed just a bit more easily than with my other Civs :)

What I was referring to in general was going revisiting the halo games before the new one comes out,

Halo 2 will not work on my 360. I get that "this original xbox game is not supported" error message. Yes.. I have a HD. Not sure when this happened... after one of the dash updates. I know there has a special partition on the drive for BC.... maybe that got dinged during a dash update.

can you test out any other Xbox1 game known to be compatible with 360? It seems like your HD is missing the second partition which means it's most likely a fake HD. a lot of people unwittingly own fake ones (bought cheaply off Amazon, most likely).

you can always add the second partition yourself

none of the dashboard updates touch the second partition.

No... none of the other ones known to be compatible work. Thr drive was refurbished from GameSh__, so who knows. Still have the Xbox 1, so it's not a high priority.

Speaking of Halo games, I can't seem to find this anyone else, so I thought someone here might know: how many folks are able to play co-op campaign via Live in Halo:CE Anniversary?

Only two can play co-op campaign online. A real bummer.

I still say they should have released it like they did with ODST,

One disc with the campaign and one disc with ALL online multiplayer maps.

Means you didn't buy an official hard drive.

might as well add the partition yourself to restore backward compatibility:

excerpt:

If you want to restore the Xbox 1 emulator to your newly hacked drive or your save games you will need to connect your old 360 drive to your computer and boot windows.

If you dont have an old hard drive or simply want to save some time you can download a copy of Hoffmans partition 2 which he uploaded here

After beating Destroy All Human I went with Divinity 2 : Dragon Knight Saga. It's a great game, but damn why do I have to love RPGs so much? It's not enough I have a GIGANTIC "to play" pile. When I do pick a game, it's usually one I'm dedicated to for months! My pile isn't getting smaller very quickly because of these dang RPGs that's for sure.

I spent the weekend breaking down Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3. I am finally winning matches online, and finally beat a team trenchcoat (Dante, Vergil, Wesker). Hulk/Dorm matches are so powerful... I may pick up hulk/dorm just for that reason.

Also, shoutout to Yipes for finally winning his first Major tournament since Marvel vs Capcom 2.

I had been playing the XBLA title Dust: An Elysian Tail. It's basically a Metroidvania-type 2D game with a very Japanese art-style (despite being a Western game). Pretty good fun, if a bit on the easy side. I'll probably play it a bit more for another achievement or two, but after that, I think it's time to play Oblivion. Got to get started on the backlog somewhere...
