I just started Wet recently. A very stylish game! Too bad it didn't get the accolades it deserved. Very rough in many ways but it's stylistic fun. go to 1:02 for start of one of the slickest car chase scenes in video games.

I've recently got back on Burnout: Paradise, complete with Big Surf Island DLC. I was never much of a racing game fan, but burnout has always kinda made up for it with the sheer absurdity that they've managed to pack in - and you can't have a fun racing game if the crash cams are rubbish, can you?? :P

I have played that SO much, great game, good online challenges. Just plain old driving fun.

Personally, I just picked up Forza 4 Limited edition and great racing, great looking game. They have added some fun into it, but I have not seen any driving game as much fun as Burnout: Paradise. That is the only game I have tons of hours into other than Oblivion. I have well over 100 in each, and still go back to them.

got in my first game of Tecmo Bowl ever! Tecmo Bowl Throwback's got a lot of charm.

All rosters were updated to opening day 2012 players. This is the Dallas Cowboys versus the Washington Redskins. I just got the game so I didn't know the controls, and I never played Tecmo Bowl before (so I thought it'd be a different button per receiver, not A to cycle to and B to throw). I didn't know how to audible or how to do extra points. I still don't get how to read the defensive plays.

4:11 DeMarco Murray is a beast! 5:08 Tony Romo to Miles Austin TD pass! 5:27 not knowing how the kicking game works. 8:13 Romo making it happen under pressure. 9:04 Murray plowing them down for a TD! 9:18 15G Razzle Dazzle achievement for 100 yard game. 10:03 RGIII throws an INT. 10:24 Romo to Dez Bryant for a TD! 11:59 halftime. There are lots of different halftime shows. This just happens to be the most boring (no girls!!!!). 12:14 halftime stats.

13:06 Romo shaking off a defender to hit Dez Bryant for a big one. 13:58 this should've been a TD for Jason Witten!!! 17:51 Joshua Morgan fumbles. 21:06 Evan Royster breaks a big one for a TD. 23:00 end of game stats. 23:22 week 1 standings. 24:14 week 1 team rankings. 24:57 week 1 player rankings.

Killed almost all day playing Fire Pro Wrestling, the new Avatar pro wrestling $10 download game.

It's not perfect, but it sure is fun for awhile. Definitely check out the free trial. :)

Not sure what to make of the new Double Dragon Neon, seems like it has potential, but also potential to stink up the place. Demo leaves me wondering.

And "RAW" seems like a decent take on Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance, but it just has me frothing for Torchlight 2 more than anything. I'll kick the demo around more before deciding.

(over the weekend)

Bulletstorm

Wow, what a fantastic use of the Unreal engine on a console. Locked V-Sync (perhaps it tears a few frames and there, not sure... seems to be locked for the most part - considering I haven't noticed, I think... says a lot about the quality of the game, because I am a nitpicking V-Sync whore  ), textures look great, all the post processing fx are top notch. Storyline/Comedy based commentary are great and on point imo... I've laughed out loud a few times, not too many games can do that for me. The scenic backdrops are extremely gorgeous.

The Action is stellar, I love all the "show off/flashy" kills Mechanic thingamabopper... very well done (gets repetetive for sure, but definitely adds a neat element to a FPS imo) overall.

win/win for me - so far, I'd give it an 8 or 9/10. A few points off for being linear. I wish shooters could 'all' finally graduate to utilizing some form of standardized Sandbox gameplay elements. The backdrops and environments are extremely pretty to look at... the entire time I'm playing, I wish I could simply run off and explore the landscape, same as I can do with Fallout 3 or any other sandbox title. But that's a limitation of the design of the game, so I can't really fault the Dev for that, because I think they've nailed what they were going for, which in my eyes, is a fast paced, linear, FPSer, with a few new tricks. Fantastic game so far, worth every penny at $20 sealed nib.

The upcoming Need For Speed: Most Wanted will be a lot like Burnout Paradise since it's also being made by Criterion and will be open world. I'm cheap though so I won't be buying it any time soon.

I have been hooked back on Fallout: New Vegas, I picked up the Game of the Year Edition with all the DLC I didn't get because I was waiting for it on disc, and decided to start a new character and play through the game differently. My wife got me Boarderlands 2 last week and I haven't touched it yet. I should do that before she gets her feelings hurt.

I've been playing Prince of Persia: The Forgotten Sands. Overall a fun game, but out of the 3 'modern' PoPs that I've played (Sands of Time, first in the last trilogy and then the last Prince of Persia before the Forgotten Sands, I think it was simply PoP again....kind of cell shaded one), this is my least favorite.

Character and charm go a long way for me in a game. While realizing that Sands of Time had its issues, perhaps most prominately sub par combat sections, the game just oozed charm. I fell in love with it. If anyone ever wants to read what I think is a very honest assessment of Sands of Time, read Steve Bowden's 100 Computer Games to Play Before You Die. And I really dug the last PoP as well. Combat was much better than SoT, and yet it still had a lot of that character that I dug from SoT. I don't know, maybe I'm a sucker for the Prince having a love interest in these games (which Forgotten Sands does not have one).

But overall I'm enjoying the experience immensely nonetheless. I have to admit that I thought I had finished the game last night after maybe hour 6 (?), which totally blew my mind. Without spoiling anything, it was simply a false alarm

(and for those who have played this game, no, it wasn't the boss fight where I think it was obviously a false alarm, but the second one.

I still would be surprised if the game ends up taking much more than 8 hours (probably less, but I haven't really tracked, so I'm estimating on the long side).

I just finished Bulletstorm. Absolutely loved it. Too bad they canned the sequel. Not enough shooters out there that aren't afraid to be different.

Just beat the hell out of Divinity 2 : Dragon Knight Saga yep 1000/1000

If you are an RPG fan, this was a GREAT one I thought! Add the fact you get a CD copy of the soundtrack in the game case (why don't more games do that?) and you have yourself a real winner!

Now what to play next. I stuck in Catherine and played the first level. Not sure that game will hold my attention for long. Thinking of Crysis 2 or Bulletstorm.

Once I finished Mass Effect last saturday, I started playing Mass Effect 2 ten minutes later :)

Just finished Prince of Persia: The Forgotten Sands a few minutes ago. Good game....probably my least favorite of the ones I've played, but still enjoyed it. I have to say though that this game must have had THE LONGEST credits I've ever seen! I always tend to sit around and watch the credits from any game I finish. These went on for, and I'm not kidding, at least 15 minutes.

Anyway, now to figure out what's next on the list. Anyone happen to know....is Dante's Inferno a quick play? That's really what I'm looking for right now, something quick to get through (kind of like PoP) and I happen to have Dante's Inferno in queue upstairs.

I just started Mass Effect 3, if that introduction doesn't get you into it, nothing will.

Downloaded the "extended cut" before I even put the disc in, heard the ending sucks.

I must say that after the really furious start into Mass Effect 2, it lost quite a bit of steam. Basically I spent the last ~25 hours gathering my team and making it "loyal", which totally regardless of character/story/background always results in the same 60-80 minute shoot'em up missions. So far, about 30 hours into the game, there's not even a real enemy around. Also, they replaced the rather boring vehicular exploration parts from the first Mass Effect with an even more boring mineral scanner  I hope it picks up pace and get's more interesting sometime soon...

Just finished Iron Brigade last night. Love that game! If anyone wants to play Co-Op please let me know....I'd love to Gold some missions.

Just started playing Lego Star Wars: The Complete Saga (I think 'Saga'....something like that) with the kids. Completely forgot I even had that game. It's been tucked away since I think Father's Day. Lots of fun....it's probably the 5th Lego game I've played, so nothing out of the ordinary. But me and the kids get a kick out of playing it, and that's the important thing.

I still need to crack open a game for myself, now that I'm done with Prince of Persia, but I haven't been able to committ to anything yet. Maybe I'll stick with another XBLA game instead, or circle back on something I've already played through :?

I decided to break down DoDonPachi Resurrection on the X360.

So far I got to stage 5 on one credit, with a great score of 1.3 billion, currently ranked 236th on the Xbox live leaderboards.

I literally went from 200 mil games, to getting 200 mil on stage 1.

I plan on putting up a better run and putting it up on youtube. :)

Just finished the new Sherlock Holmes game and started playing Dungeon Defenders with a friend. We're really sucking at it so far. :( Seems like it'll be fun once we get the hang of just what the heck is going on there.

Just picked up Homefront on the weekend and the opening to the game had me (and my wife) glued to the screen... the game from what I've heard is a short one but the story has me and I'm not a huge shooter guy so the multiplayer is not for me... but I may check it out anyway.

So far, the game has me hooked... just need some more quality time with it! :)

I was playing a good bit of Oblivion, but I haven't played much of anything in a week or so. One of those non-gaming lulls I suppose...

Tecmo Bowl Throwback looks like a potential purchase. I can't remember the last time I bought a sports game, but that one sells itself on nostalgia alone.

So for the 'me' game, I ended up cracking open Dante's Inferno bright and early this morning (5:30 AM....sometimes it's the only time of day "Dad" can get some personal gaming time in!!). I know it is basically a God of War clone, but I'm enjoying it for what it is, and for someone who's never spent a lot of time on a Playstation, it's nice to have the experience.

Though at a friend's house, I've been playing a good bit of "Dust: An Elisyan Tail" on the second-hardest difficulty. Quite the tough game, honestly. Still get a chuckle out of Fidget breaking the Fourth Wall near the beginning: "Mash the button! DO SOMETHING!!!!!"
