Does anyone else hate..........?

The Atari mattel carts? I'm talking the shape of the cart itself(well I guess the no label layout as well)....it's a pain to store them with your other carts and they look like crap.

If you use them like book ends for the rest of your collection, they can help keep dust away while viewing the more valuable pieces! :P  :P

They were actually an ingenious design from a cost cutting perspective. Just take the intellivision case, of which they had coming out the wazoo, slap a little adapter on it and viola! An Atari cart!

Well, I'll be a son of a... I *never* made that connection! I just thought it was so they'd have something "different." So, I have a stack of wonky Intellivision carts in with my 2600 collection? Damn. You learn somethin' new everyday!

I never knew anything about the intellivision.. When I first stated collecting Atari games, I thought the first intellivision game I found was a Mattel Atari cart that the adapter had broken off of.. It didn't take long to figure it out though ;)

I've always said that a system's only as good as the controllers it supports. For this reason, I've never been the slightest bit interested in the Intellivision. (Plus George Plimpton bugged the SHIT out of me when I was a kid.)

I agree about the unwieldy shapes of M-Network carts. Those things have been the bane of my anally-organized-collection existence. Whether I've stored games on a bookshelf or in bins, they never seem to fit anywhere -- even comfortably with each other! It's not as if they're worth it. The only halfway interesting Mattel games for the 2600 are the Tron titles, as well as the uncharacteristically addictive Lock'n'Chase (adapted from an arcade game, believe it or not).

Those and the STARPATH cassettes completely wreck any shot I have of every neatly organizing my collection. :x :x :x :x

The Xonox carts with the bulged out section doesn't help in organizing my collection either :(

What about Star Strike? I love that game. It's like Star Wars, but Earth hangs in the balance! Dark Cavern (Night Stalker) is another good one.

Well I'll try shipping them to you but I am sure that I will keep dropping their awkward design all the way to the post office ;)

The Intellivsion was a GREAT system. I spent many a night playing B-17 Bomber...the voice was just great back then (this is still a good game!), Also Astrosmash was one of the best shooters for any system. Fast paced, I loved the screen color changes and the saucers shooting across in the later rounds, homing missles...another real good game. Who can forget Dungeons and Dragons? That game BLEW away all other "adventure" games with the exception of the original Adventure and Pitfall. Lot's of depth. The Intellivision is my second favorite system ever:-)
