Some advice on buying a new 360? Replacing existing one.

Recommended Posts

Ok.....my old original 360 is loud and I have a feeling it will crap out sooner than later.

Any advice I can get on how easy it is to transfer my stuff to a new unit?

I'm thinking about breaking the bank and getting the Elite console since I do have an HD TV.

Thanks for the suggestions/info.

I'm still on the fence of getting a warranty\120G hard-drive or just getting a new unit. :|

I think MS actually replaces the consoles so you may end up with a fresh HDMI equipped console.

They rarely replace the entire units now. You send them your 360, they pop it open and replace the guts and send it back. They must be good and quick at it too because the last one I sent them they only had for a day (You can track the progress on Xbox.com) and they sent it back fixed.

If you just have a few saves, a memory card will work to transfer stuff. If not, I see no reason you couldn't get your new console, and hook a network cable between the two to copy stuff (don't know if that'll work for movies, or music, but should for saves and such.
