crazytoy #1 Posted September 30, 2008 I read an article a while ago that Atari 2600 Mario Brothers just keeps getting harder and never ends and is unbeatable? Is that rue or is it only a rumor? Regardless the game had okay graphics for its time and place and was pretty fun and challenge compared to the other Atari 2600 games. It was pretty fun indeed. Um, most older arcade and console titles are like that. They were primarily about skill, getting a high score, etc. not about finishing the game. fiddlepaddle #3 Posted September 30, 2008 (edited) There are a few games that have actual endings, and some that quit when the score gets too high, or other bugs in the code cause it to stop for one reason or another. Most games from that era are more about skill and endurance. Check out this also. and this. and this as well. gdement #4 Posted September 30, 2008 This question leads me to ask another one: Does the arcade Mario Bros. have an end? I just assumed it repeats forever.

The Atari 2600 game of Mario brothers as I recall was a Amazing Fun game for its times. Good graphics and lots of fun.
yoshilime #6 Posted November 29, 2008 yea, arcade games usually just get harder/faster. all about getting points and stealing your quarters.
7800Lover #7 Posted November 29, 2008 Yes, it goes on forever and ever. The 2600 Mario Bros was good but I hated it how that version had the fireballs be indestructible. At least in the other ports you could kill them by punching them from below.
