What happens to all my downloaded games if I ever have to send my unit in? What happens to the games that are no longer available for download?

 

As long as you sent the unit to MS to fix. They will be tied to the new unit (if you have a new unit) when it's returned.

If you have it fixed elsewhere and they swap out your unit, you can transfer all your game licences over to another unit on xbox.com.

There are no games that will be unavailable to you if you have downloaded them in the past. Just go to your download history and you will be able to re-download the content.
