Recommended Posts

Is there a windows based atari 8-bit emulator that installs completely on a thumb drive or usb hard drive With out having to install files on the host computer?

Lots of programs work fine from flash drives (or anywhere else you want to put them).

Only problem is they rely on and/or create Registry entries on the machine you run them on.

Another problem can be that they might need certain DLLs, or shared files.

Atari800Win+ should work - as is you just manually place the executable then tell it where to find stuff.

If, e.g. you wanted to use it at work, should be OK. You'd probably just not want it to create any file associations.

I run a800win 2.5c and a800winplus 3.1 in my "BBS: on a Stick" apps. Both work fine however I really don't know if they write to registry (I would assume they do). BBS: on a stick (including emulators) available to download at website below.
