what is needed to make a 400 work?

I have a 400 console, console only. what do I need? does an atari 2600 joystick work, or does the 400 have a special joystick?

what does the original adapter look like? what does the AV adapter look like? any help is appreciated!

the only way to link a 400 to a TV is with a standard RF cable, like the 2600. There is no provision for AV/S-video on the 400.

Any 2600 compatible controller will work
