fargone #1 Posted October 15, 2008 (edited) It's a role playing D & D game very similar in style to Golden Axe. The characters are able to move vertically as well as horizontally. You have a 3-D ish view of the characters. There are at least 4 (or maybe 5) characters - Paladin Knight, Sorceress, Ninja, Druid (dressed in green cloak with pointy hat), and maybe one more The game would play out as a scrolling walkthrough leading to an end-of-level Boss. There was one Boss level which sticks to my mind and it is the two Iron Knights. I remember that there was also a sequel released the year after. Timeline: Roughly about the time when Street Fighter 2 came out (1990) and R-Type 2 (1991?) And no, it is not Gauntlet. But the game in question definitely features a Ninja character and a Sorceress in robes who has magic flames as her weapon. Each character can trigger a more powerful state three times. Can't remember if this gives invulnerability though... The Druid guy (my favourite) shouts "POWER!" whereas the Sorceress says "Magic..."

ProperRogue #5 Posted October 15, 2008 (edited) I think I may have something here ... Would it be Dark Seal (Gate of Doom for the US)? I couldn't find any info other than KLOV , but probably nothing you could use. So I posted a screenshot instead. fargone #8 Posted October 16, 2008 YES! It is Dark Seal/Gate of Doom. Dark Seal I think the sequel is called Wizard Fire? Wizard Fire And the two Iron Knights are, in fact, Gollums
Tempest #9 Posted October 16, 2008 Ahh Dark Seal, I forgot about that game. Never saw it in an arcade but I did play it on MAME. I like these kinds of games. Tempest
djpubba #10 Posted October 18, 2008 It's actually a pretty decent game! I actually had a prototype of it for a while. http://www.arcadecollecting.com/pics/god.jpg The marquee there is drawn with magic marker.
