Atlantis II

Hello,

 

I was just curious if anyone knows exactly how many of these Atlantis II carts were produced and sent to contestants for the shootout to make it to the finals of the Defend Atlantis contest.

 

I am the owner the boxed copy that I sent to Alex so he could dump the ROM, post pix for the AtariAge archives as well as scan all the paperwork I have.

 

Just curious how many more are floating around out there...

 

Also I am looking for the Defend Atlantis T-shirt and scuba set that were contest prizes. If anyone has these that would like to trade or sell them, please contact me, I would be interested!

I have a copy and I believe Adam owns a copy,

there is also the one with the II written on it and

yours, so I know of 4 that can be accounted

for.

Count me in for an accounted one, but if possession actually is 9/10 of the law, I guess my brother actually is the one who owns it.

I actually have 2 at the moment (my other one is mint, but I have yet to find the box or letter). I believe that brings us up to 6. I heard that there were 20 released to the contest players, but they may have made more.

I spoke with one of the contest finalists a few months ago (there's a small article in the current issue of the 2600 Connection). He mentioned there were 10 people who managed to max the score out on the original Atlantis, so Imagic made each of them a special version ("Atlantis II") and held a playoff to determine the winner. So at least 10 were made.
