+CharlieChaplin
Well, believe it or not, Tip Animator did not give us the first animations for the A8. But it gave us the possibility to easily create 256-color animations. Anyway, as requested by Bob1200XL here are some old A8 animations... done with Movie Maker (Gr. 7), originally published by Reston (?) and later by Electronic Arts. All MM animations do include a player program, some of them even include the original countdown. Note: one or two animations are available as 48k/64k animations (loading multi-stage from disk) and also as 128k animations (loading single-stage from disk)... Maybe I can also add the Basic animations (some Gr. 15 pics and an Atari Basic program for the animation), the ASCII/ATASCII animations (from the old BBS`s) and other animations (e.g. ani-like demos) I have in the next days... but I will not upload the megabyte-long MyIDE movies here (cause they mostly use 16MB images and are longer than 2 MB when zipped)... greetings, Andreas Koch. +bob1200xl
Great! Thanks! You can't see any difference in the animations themselves but the credits at the beginning cycle very quickly. Maybe they're moving things between screens. I'm guessing that anything done on an Atari now will work at 1.79mhz and get little benefit from a faster CPU. Anybody got something that won't work because a stock Atari is too slow? (running in 64K?) Bob Well, believe it or not, Tip Animator did not give us the first animations for the A8. +CharlieChaplin
Anyways, here are some more animations from the old days of Atari... ASCII/ATASCII animations (named ASCII movies then)... greetings, Andreas Koch.
ClausB
Here's a 144K animation I did for the Axlon RAMDisk way back then.
+CharlieChaplin
Hello folks, and here are some more of the old animations I found on my DOS PC. Think there are a few more laying around (like Max Headroom, The Alien, etc.) but I have to find them first... Boot the ATR images containing a *.BAS file with Atari Basic enabled, whereas all other images should be booted without Basic (to avoid garbage on the screen)... Well, here is a list of the old animations in this package, ATTENTION: all stuff is for adults only ! - Blowjob (you know what...) - Couch Potato (a picture animation in Basic) - Cathy (one girl from the PD game Strip-Blackjack) - Lisa (the other girl from the game Strip-Blackjack) - xxx-Cartoon (a simple Gr.8 slideshow) - xxx-Cartoon 2 (the Gr. 8 slideshow as one 64k ML file, with some pics working as animations! ) - Smurf (contains a) a picture-animation and b) the same as one ML file animation) - Smurfette (another picture animation in Basic) - Gigantic Gerry (a *.MVM animation) - Schabernack (in english my dictionary says: to play a prank on someone; I would simply call it a gag) Sorry for all this porn stuff, future posts with other old animations will be free of porn... -Andreas Koch. +CharlieChaplin
Well, and here are some more (older) animations, which I found in my A8 collection... Note: The animations which display "convert to ani format by madteam" during loading were done by TeBe of course... There are still some animations missing, like Max Headroom ani, Hi Alf ani, 64k ray ani (converted from C64), but they are on my demo file disks (so I have to find them first)... greetings, Andreas Koch. P.S.: Attention, the TH666 ani-demo contains a very evil opening (showing a pic with two towers and an airplane...), the "VBlitz.ATR" (video blitz) requires separate Antic access, "Video.ATR" is almost the same ani but does not require it... +CharlieChaplin
And there is the "Tron Recognizer" animation for Axlon ramdisks by CB and a simpler version for 64k Ataris.
