Imperfect labels...whats the decrease in $ value?

Recommended Posts

Hope i posted in right area, anyway,I saw a 2600 Chuck Norris/Ghost manor Xonox Double Ender Friday at the local game shop. The guy wanted $45 for it.And OF COURSE it had a name scribbled on the label in black permanent marker :x I said 45 is reasonable for that cartridge, but NOT with a name scribbled on it.I'll said the most its worth is probably $15-20 IMO,because of the scribbling.Question is how much does a valuable cartridge decrease in value when the label has been scribbled on or any other blemish.I'm not sure id even pay $20 for it when i come to think again.

The drop in value is alot and getting much much worse. The way prices are dropping on stuff that isn't ultra rare, and the way the hobby just doesn't have major growth, I would say it's 50% or greater. And I think that $45 is a bit much even for a rare cart like that. Those variants are for completists (like me) and better opportunities to get a better condition copy are probably going to be worth waiting for. I wouldn't even consider picking up a market rate item in the wild that has a cosmetic blemish like that, aside from usual wear. I would be looking to pay maybe $10 max for the same item.

I think that in the distant future (maybe 10 years down the line), it would be reasonable to assume that condition issues will be an even greater price determinant that currently.

That cart alone isn't worth over $20. I'd say what he's got is worth maybe $5 tops. Bear in mind that new labels can be made, but they're still not the original.

No way a loose Chuck Norris/Ghost manor is worth $45 to begin with, and the felt marker makes it worse. I'd pay $5 just to have a copy to play, but no more.

A perfectly mint Loose Chuck Norris/Ghost Manner cart is not worth $45. Even if it had instructions it's not worth $45. In fact even if the scribble was the programmers autograph I would say it's not worth $45.

Chuck Norris / Ghost Manor is pretty damn rare, I have only ever seen the box for it once. I think Atari2600.com has one for $75 or something like that. I'd say it's a $50 cart, at least that's what I would pay, if I didn't have it.

Anyone got a CIB one, I am offering $350.00? :ponder:

I picked one one up today at a local Cash Convertors for the whopping price of .99cents. You know that feeling when your heart starts to pump. Also, a Commando, Crackpots, and a Hangman for .99 cents. All and all it was a good thrifting day :) . Cheers all, FB

I'd say Double enderTomarc/Motocross or Single ender Spikes Peak would be the hardest to find boxed in these. :ponder:

i got a boxed NTSC chuck norris / artillery duell CIB ....but the box doesn't look so nice ... the top flap is missing :(

the big PAL xonox boxes are all easy to find .. there's always a few on ebay.de ... mostly brand new ... i think it's hard to find a damaged PAL box with a lot of wear :P

will pay $$$ for a damaged hardcore-used PAL box :D
