ddaniels #1 Posted October 21, 2008 Does anyone know if there is a website that contains scanned images of old videogame or computer magazines? It would be cool to find a place where someone may have scanned the entire magazine in pdf format. Is there such a site(s) out there? Thanks

chuckwalla #3 Posted October 22, 2008 (edited) Go to retromags... http://www.retromags.com/forums/Electronic...loads-cat9.html they have a lot of good stuff there - long downloads, when you can get access, but check it out. I've got a handful of Gamepro, EGM, and Sega Visions mags from the early 90's. I've already scanned in several sports games from the Sega Genesis such as the ones here, if you like those, let me know and i'll upload the ones I have. 108 Stars #6 Posted October 22, 2008 Hey guys, I just want to thank you for those cool links! I am very interested in all those old magazines! videogame magazines started in 1991 in Germany, you could say that the 8-Bit era was widely not reported on much, save for small articles in computer magazines....and even later many of the games were never released in Europe, thus no reviews. It´s great to look up all those articles! And quite funny to see the views on many aspects of the market from a view of 1989 or so; it seems so much less professional than today! You would also be surprised how different games were received in different countries!
ddaniels #7 Posted October 22, 2008 I'm not familiar with Enter Magazine. When was this magazine out? What did it cover? The magazine that I would love to find in a .pdf or cbz file is Electronic Games from the early 80's. Does anyone have or know of any issues of that magazine scanned? I see these on Ebay listed around $40+ ouch. This may be off topic but if your into comics on DVD check out this site http://www.gitcorp.com/group.asp?grp=14 I'm going to keep searching the web for more sites that carry complete scanned video game magazines and I will post what I find. Good job so far guys. Thanks I have been doing Enter Magazine for sometime now and nearly have all the issues scanned, your welcome to have them. Skylark68 #9 Posted October 22, 2008 I wish i had never thrown out all of my issues of Videogaming and Computergaming Illustrated. They were in bad shape, but they are unbelievably hard to come by nowadays. I had all of the issues (to my knowledge) except for No. 2. The later issues were great because they had some good reviews (sort of like Siskel and Ebert back in the day) of games. Two reviewers commented on the games and gave them letter grades in 2 categories, gameplay and graphics. I even remember the full page "X-Man" ad in one of the issues. i was 6 or 7 years old and wondered why i could never find that game at the local K-Mart or Sears (where my parents bought most of my games). Try to find those magazines online. They were really great fun!

Jimmy Yakapucci #12 Posted October 23, 2008 This may be off topic but if your into comics on DVD check out this site http://www.gitcorp.com/group.asp?grp=14 For those of you who go to this link, the ones that are listed as "Out of Stock" are probably gone for good. They lost their license to reproduce Marvel comic books. JY
Atarifever #13 Posted October 23, 2008 (edited) http://www.digitpress.com/library/ Lots of magazines, newsletters, and other pubs scanned and posted. I don't know what it is, but post crash stuff from the crash era systems and companies is my collecting fetish. I spend almost all my collecting time and money collecting 7800 games and 2600 red lable games (and stuff like 2600 Double Dragon and the like), and this Intellivision catelogue from 1988 is just awesome. http://www.digitpress.com/library/catalogs/intv_fall88.pdf Edited October 23, 2008 by Atarifever
