panamajoe #1 Posted October 25, 2008 Is there any possibility to get one of the jap-only games for the MegaDrive/ Genesis that were translated by some enthusiasts into english (Advance Military Commander and Pulseman for example) onto a cart and play them on real hardware...??? (i don´t want to buy the Genesis flash-cart because a) it´s just a flash cart and b) it´s 120$!) any other ideas?? thanks!
108 Stars #2 Posted October 25, 2008 (edited) On the Sega-16 forums the member PlayGen did sell such carts for a pretty low price and in top-quality (even with custom-box insert and manual, and the Sega-seal), but someone complained and he stopped. But maybe he will help you if you ask him, he has made quite a large selection not only of fan-translated games (Pulseman only runs in 60 Hz though) but also of games that were never officially released. PlayGen´s profile Now there is still Sega-16 member Bratwurst doing it, but he only offers 2 games atm: Mega Man: Wily Wars and Monster World IV. His work is excellent as well, I am proud owner of his MW IV. Bratwurst´s profile PlayGen is a bit cheaper, and he lives in the UK so that would be the best option for you. If you are interested in Mega Drive you must register with Sega-16, it is by far the best site for it. Edited October 25, 2008 by 108 Stars
Reaperman #3 Posted October 25, 2008 there's also game reproductions. he's where I go for nes, but he also does 3 genesis titles (of them king colossus seems the only translation). check the main page for a 15% off coupon, and be aware that he's taking a bit over a month right now. I'm going to have to sign myself up over on sega-16 it looks like... my current fetish is leaning toward the little system, and I just can't keep from buying more genesis titles on a daily basis. Anybody else noticed that genesis games are *FAR* cheaper than nes titles?
108 Stars #4 Posted October 25, 2008 (edited) PlayGen offered these three games too, and also Whacky Racers, Jelly Boy, ResQ, Pulseman, Trouble Shooter Vintage, Tecmo Soccer, and the chinese pirate beat´em up Beneath the Clouds, one of my MD favorites. The advantage of the guys at Sega-16 is that they offer the games complete with clamshell case, high quality insert and a manual. It all looks like a real official release, my MW IV even has a barcode.^^ Edited October 25, 2008 by 108 Stars

2600Lives #6 Posted October 26, 2008 Genny games are WAY cheap. At the last game con I went to, I picked up 16 Genny titles for, get this, a DIME each. Sure, they were all sports titles, but hey, it pads the collection (and two were not sports titles, the AMAZINGLY shitty Shaq-Fu, which every lover of bad games should own, and Desert Strike, which is totally awesome). Also got like 20 2600 commons for the same price. For just under 4 bucks, I got 36 games for my collection. Not bad!
