S1500 #1 Posted October 30, 2008 I just saw a commercial for KFC doing some sort of Guitar Hero promotion. Once again fast food & games have come together. So what's the history of fast food & video games promotions? There was Burger King & 2 xbox titles, McDonald's & Atari. The failed Rax & GTA:San Andreas promo(The "Grove street" meal). Am I missing anything else?

pinball22 #3 Posted October 30, 2008 There was a Taco Bell and N64 thing sometime in 1997-98, and sometime more recently a Sega and Burger King thing. There are probably tons more.
fiddlepaddle #4 Posted October 30, 2008 I've found a bunch of Sega Sonic toys, and some simple LCD Sega video games from McDonalds Happy Meals, around mid to late 90's I think.
CGQuarterly #5 Posted October 31, 2008 Burger King had 3 XBox titles, not 2. They also had those Activision handheld LCD games around 2005. Chris
slosu #6 Posted November 2, 2008 (edited) I remember Pizza Hutt dishing out demo PS1 games with every large pizza back in the late 90's. I still have a couple somewhere. Steve http://www.xanga.com/Atari_Man Edited November 2, 2008 by slosu
shadow460 #7 Posted November 2, 2008 (edited) I remember Pizza Hutt dishing out demo PS1 games with every large pizza back in the late 90's. I still have a couple somewhere. Steve http://www.xanga.com/Atari_Man I've actually got both of the demo discs they released. Neither one of mine is a winner, though. IIRC, you could just ask for the discs before you ordered and they'd hand 'em out to you. The prize was $500,000. Disc 1 has a Big New Yorker commercial on it and right now I am hungry... It has playable demos of Tony Hawk's Pro Skater, Ape Escape, Crash Team Racing, Final Fantasy VIII, and Cool Boarders 4. There is no ad on Disc 2, but there's an audio plug for a Stuffed Crust Pizza. The demos are The Next Tetris, Spyro 2: Ripto's Rage, Gran Turismo 2, Tomb Raider: The Last Revelation (this one doesn't seem to be playable), and Sled Storm. I should probably kick around the demos for FF8 and GT2. I don't think I ever played them. My first wife purchased a couple of Spyro games, though, and these demos may be the first Spyro she played. AtticGamer #8 Posted November 3, 2008 McDonalds offered LCD Sega games too. I may post a pic of the one I have.
dangeraaron #9 Posted November 4, 2008 Haha, Anyone remember McKids? What a Mario rip-off
mbd30 #10 Posted November 4, 2008 Haha, Anyone remember McKids? What a Mario rip-off There was also "McDonald's Treasure Land Adventure" and "Global Gladiators" for Sega Genesis. They should have made a Taco Bell chihuahua game during the peak of that particular mascot's popularity.
PressureCooker2600 #11 Posted November 6, 2008 Haha, Anyone remember McKids? What a Mario rip-off That game was actually a quality game. Above average when it came to platformers on the NES. I like it alot. Never got around to beating it, though.
shadow460 #12 Posted November 6, 2008 Also in the early 2000's, McDonald's had those game kiosks for the kids. They each had an N64 in them.
