Did I screw up my Floppy game Disk ?

Recommended Posts

I was trying to load my "Deep Space" game (original Disk)

last night, It has two game Disks, They self boot from the disk.

The first one loaded fine but when asked for Disk B it

never loaded further ? I tried a few times and nothing

from the second disk

I did a re-boot and then tried to look at the disk using

the "show disk option" could not read the disks and

got the message "disk may have corrupt data" or something

like that, now neither will load ? Disk was loading fine until I

tried looking at it from the my ST Desk top so I fear I

made a mistake trying to look at it.

Anyone know of a way to fix or rewrite the disk ?

Thanks in advance

Dennis

Most likely old floppies are the problem.

You can DL the game from some site (planetemu.net), and write it to floppy, for instance with Floppy Imager.

It is normal that can not open Deep Space (or see files) - it is bootable floppy, with own loader.

Thanks, I will try and make a new Disk from the DL, thanks again

I kinda figured Deep Space was not a viewable disk but I figured I would

give it a try and coincidenaltly after I tried is when it stopped loading, thought

maybe there was some sort of copy protection that would kick in if you tried

to read the disk

Thanks
