Jboypacman's Blog - Steve Spielberg sure makes a fun game!

Recommended Posts

Ok i really do not think Mister Spielberg had much to do with the creation of Boom Blox for the Nintendo Wii outside of having his name on the box(This is like having his name on the Animaniacs cartoon)but this game is really fun to play!

Boom Blox is a game i picked up on a whim using a gift card and some left over in-store credit at GameStop, i skipped over Samba De Amigo and Carnival Games Mini-Golf to get it.

I had read a few reviews about the game and it sounded like it was sort of a Jenga type game(I guess there is a Jenga Wii game but i have not seen it anywhere and my understanding its not that good).

Am not a big fan of EA(Electronic Arts)and i have not been a fan of there product for a long time(The Sega Genesis was when they were at there best)but i find this game to be quite enjoyable from them.

In Boom Blox the ideal is to knock down stacks of blocks using your Wiimote like you were pitching a baseball you just target your block, click your button and whip your Wiimote forward like your were throwing a ball.

There are different type of blocks and tasks on each board to complete with only so many throws allowed per board so the challenge goes up fairly quickly.

Some blocks will explode once they are targeted and hit others require you cause the blocks to come into contact with each other to cause a chain reaction with each other and there are others that will just vanish on contact creating a "domino effect" causing blocks to fall.

At times the game will ask you only to remove certain blocks from the board or you will lose points causing you to lose a round which you have to retry.

Up to four players can play Boom Blox either V.S. or co-op and you can make your own custom levels in the game to challenge your friends to or share online(i have not try this yet).

With 300 levels set in five worlds Boom Blox is a fun game that the whole family and all your friends can enjoy and i find it to be a enjoyable one player game as well. :)
