ginnidog #1 Posted November 3, 2008 I have hundreds if not thousands of C64 ( 5 1/2" floppies ) and Amiga 500 ( 3 1/4" diskettes ) games...not many are original..got them so many years ago, mostly from the BBS groups that were around in them days... I may just hook them all up again.... Is there any interest in this kind of stuff ?? Regards, Paulie ( GINNIDOG )
Rybags #2 Posted November 3, 2008 Interest in buying old copied games? Not really. Practically everything can be downloaded in disk image format, and with a little extra DIY hardware can be put back in it's original format.
ginnidog #3 Posted November 3, 2008 I wasnt planning on selling any of it. Video #4 Posted November 4, 2008 (edited) I'd be interested in a lot of this old stuff. Unfortunately, I'm strapped for space more than anything, and the C64 is NOT exactly a small machine (well, the computer itself is, but the drives etc...) I did like a few of the games a lot though, like Casltes of DR creep *(I always heard there was a level editor, but never found one) and the hacked version of M.U.L.E. that had an infinity option (play till everyones eliminated, instead of up to 12 months or however longe the offficial versionwent. One of my faves on it was a game called Below the Root, as far as I can tell, this is the ONLY system this totally awesome side scrolling RPG ish game was made on, and now my copy is dead so I can't play it anymore. It's one of the few games I got the official version of too (that and Mail order monsters) Edited November 4, 2008 by Video
dangeraaron #5 Posted November 4, 2008 Are there any original commodore games that you own? If so, I'd be interested.
AtariLeaf #6 Posted November 4, 2008 Interest in buying old copied games? Not really. Practically everything can be downloaded in disk image format, and with a little extra DIY hardware can be put back in it's original format. I used to be big in collecting for the tandy color computer and the emulator made by Jeff Vavasour worked like burning an image on a CD. You could take a coco floppy disk image and using and old 486 with a 5 1/4 drive I could burn all downloaded games onto disks and play them on my coco. Conversely it was a great way to store all my coco disks on a hard drive and if one of my old floppies died I just "burned" another copy.
98PaceCar #7 Posted November 4, 2008 Even though I have a 1541u and can use pretty much all of the d64 images on the net, I still enjoy getting a hold of actual floppies to go through. That was the way I used to get them "back in the day" and it brings back a lot of memories for me. Actually, I've been known to buy systems I don't need just to get a hold of disks, even copied ones! darthkur #9 Posted November 5, 2008 I'd be more than happy to take them off your hands. I don't care if they're original or not, as long as there's good games to play on them I'm happy. Plus I actually like the sound the 1541 makes when it's reading disks.
