phitter #1 Posted November 4, 2008 (edited) How cool is this - I saw one on display at the store last night but there were none available for purchase. When you hit the white buttons, it plays the theme song. This will look good on the tree this year when I find one. +Random Terrain #3 Posted November 4, 2008 I love crap like that. I wish I had the money to buy some of the other stuff shown at the bottom of the page too. But this thread probably belongs in the ornament forum. That's right. AtariAge has a forum for everything.
missioncontrol #4 Posted November 4, 2008 if it was in the ornament forum, then I'd never have seen it... That's the one disadvantage to too many forums

Zwackery #8 Posted November 4, 2008 I picked up one at Kohl's because I had a couple of coupons, so I got if for about 33% off MSRP. Check to see if there are any Kohl's around you as they a) stock Hallmark ornaments and b) tend to give away a lot of coupons.

HFK #11 Posted November 20, 2008 Got mine today and this thing is way cool. I was expecting a few sounds but it plays the whole startup sequence, a bit of the game then Pac Man getting killed. Also the whole cab lights up. I guess it's not entirely 2600 related but it is entirely cool. My other favorite is 'The trouble with tribbles'. It is Kirk in a little chamber with tribbles falling over his head and he talks.
Bill Loguidice #12 Posted November 20, 2008 I had posted a short, rough video of it a while back in case anyone wants to see it in action: http://www.armchairarcade.com/neo/node/2116
rolligames #13 Posted November 20, 2008 I just picked up 2 of them at Kohl's. If you have one of those stores.
Zwackery #14 Posted November 20, 2008 Here's a pic of the ornament in operation in a really low light situation so you can see how much it lights up (I was actually surprised when I first saw this). I'm not sure how popular this ornament is going to be, but you might be able to find it in Hallmark stores (or stores that carry Hallmark ornaments) after Xmas when there will be sales (beginning at 50% off, I've seen them go as high as 90% off), if there are any leftovers. [d2f]Iggy*SJB #17 Posted November 21, 2008 I went out (just got back).... dealing with Baltimore traffic at rush hour.... just to buy one of those little buggers. I'm hoping they'll still have another one next month sometime, because I do want one to keep in the box. I thought about Rose when I was driving home with it...... seeing how she would have looked at me, smiled a little and rolled her eyes, as if to say; "I married a kid, and he's always going to be that way." SRGilbert #21 Posted November 23, 2008 With any luck, this will be a series (Hallmark often does series of ornaments.) I'd guess the biggest hurdle would be the licence as there were so many different companies.
tcv #22 Posted November 23, 2008 Hmmm good point. I'd love to see a Defender, Tempest, Q*Bert, Robotron.

moycon #25 Posted November 26, 2008 I painted T-moulding on my ornament... Just need the bezel graphics next :-) Very cool. I think I'll do the same. Might just use a sharpie on it instead of paint though.
