Interest Check: Broken 2600/7800 hardware

Recommended Posts

I was originally going to give all this to AJ Franzman, but since he's gone AWOL, I was wondering if someone else could take all this off my hands. Anyway, I've got a couple of 2600s, a Heavy Sixer and a long rainbow Jr, and they both have problems. The Heavy Sixer (SN# 79427M) will play for about 10 minutes before either the system crashes or the colors go out; I replaced the voltage regulator (though I could've done a better job replacing it) but it didn't seem to help. The Jr on the other hand, works OK, but it seems to have this weird color problem. Every time the fire button is depressed on joystick 1, the colors seem to "phase" (I wish I had a video of this because it's hard to describe) and I have absolutely no idea as to the cause. In addition to the two 2600s, I've also got two worn out CX40s, a pair of broken 7800 sticks and a pair of 7800 joypads which have bad cables.

So who out there would be willing to buy this stuff and repair it? I really don't want to toss this stuff, especially the Heavy Sixer. I would prefer to give this stuff to someone around San Jose, since it would be a bitch to pack and ship all this.

Are there any AA members that live in your area that you could give them to? Shipping would probably be more than they're worth especially since its unknown if they can be fixed although there are some really smart cookies around here.

Id take the 6er and the 2 7800 joypads, you can just cut the cords right of the joypads to save room shipping them. I can cover the shipping of course.

Well, I guess I'll go ahead and part it all out, just so I can save myself the hassle of packing up and shipping the entire lot. Sorry the.golden.axe.
