Atari KLAX Mini - Now in the ole' collection

Recommended Posts

Got a good deal on this one locally and picked it up for $140. The buyer figured someone would convert it to play something else, but not while it's in my collection. I love when it says . . . It is the Nineties and there is time for KLAX. How cheesy is this. There is even an ad on the screen that displays while in attract mode to buy a KLAX shirt from Atari. This thing is tiny even compared to other minis. Fits nicely in the Garcade :)

What do you guys think of this game?

I'd love to see that restored and in action.

AX

It actually works great. Just a bit of side art damage on the one side especially. The screen is huge - much different than playing it on my Lynx :) I've always love the chicks voice and the handclaps that accompany the game play. And it's cool how the sound of the tiles gets louder as they approach the end of the field.

All in all a great Atari puzzler and I am glad to have it in the collection :)

Very Cool! I have a full sized Klax, it kinda shows how good the Lynx version is when you compare.

Nice find!

There was a Klax cabaret going locally and the guy wanted $350. It was nice and with a bit of TLC could've been near mint - seeing this post makes me kind of kick myself for not picking it up now. I just couldn't see myself (large bloke and a half) and someone else fitting side by side against a cabaret and half the fun of Klax was two-player dueling.

Still - great find. That circus completely dwarf's it - is it 4' high or even lower?

An atari tetris pcb would work perfect in that cabinet as well.

It's got the same jamma pinout and control panel layout.

Or you could get a multi jamma adapter and swap between the games with the press of a button.

I've always wondered if the arcade version ends like the Lynx version does (with an onscreen player getting sucked into the game.)
