Picked up a Quadrun on Ebay for a reasonable amount

Recommended Posts

You can always pleed temporary insanity :)

I would recommend that you take a trip to someplace like Universal Studios, or Disneyworld or something like that. This way she might be in such a good mood that she is likely to be forgiving on spending the mortgage money for a video game cartridge.

Good luck!

I know that what was paid is the going price, but you'd think that there has been quite a few on ebay lately that the price would drop a little.

I wonder how many carts were actually produced?

Anyone know about production numbers for carts, like how many of each cart Atari produced?

Listen, I am not delusional...I know it's a lot of money for an Atari cart. but 3 things:

I am a collector.

I have always wanted one.

If you average out the Quadrun carts that have been on ebay lately the going price is actually $665.00....in theory (whatever lets me sleep at night) I got a deal.

My brother picked up a Quadrun a few days ago. Got it for the cheapest price I'd seen for a Quadrun. I played it. I think it's more for the novelty than the game itself, as I found myself playing Gravitar for half an hour last night. Quadrun only for a few minutes (although I admit I didn't know how to play it).

I understand what your saying Joe. If I just wanted to play it then I would use the Cyberstella emulator (560 ROMs) . I can play just about any atari game ever made on my computer with a game pad(the graphics of course look better) .

I am a collector and that is the first and foremost reason I wanted the game. I DID actually try it on the emuator and thought it was very cool!

I could never seem to get higher than NESChampion +or+ the reserve price, so in desperation I entered a high bid of six or seven random #'s starting with 3 (I think it was 387.62) and gave up when it didn't win out. Honestly though the next time one goes up for sale I probably won't bid that high; that or I just won't bid on it at all. It's too in demand and it's just not worth it. I got a Death Trap for $41 instead.

If you look at the bid history for that, one guy bid 7$ and that was his only bid....I mean, really.

Atari2600 lives, did you wait till the last second to bid? You ended up paying $100 more than the second last bidder, that sucks but in the end you did win it....

Which in this case was equivalent to the Buy It Now price, so they were really interchangeable.

You did not get ripped off. Its a beautiful label, and you now have one. If you have a collection of anything, there is always one illusive piece. For most Atari collectors, this is it. That, and Eli's Ladder! Congrats. Now, make sure you bring it to Vegas next year, and have Steve sign it for you, then you would easily be able to get your money back out if it (if you had to- I do not know many things I would sell a Quadrun for....)

I had Steve sign my Quadrun last year. However I chickened out and had him sign it on the back instead of the front. :)

Well 500 isn't the cheapest for a Quadrun but it has sold for that ammount before. Its a very in demand game and while personally I wouldn't call it a "10" (we have seen seen what 6 of these on ebay this year) everyone wants it. Its the rarest 1st party atari game.

Nice job

I think it's a great good deal, if you can spare the money why not, I dont think you will find it cheaper, and if you ever want to resell it on eBay, I'm sure you will make more than you spend.

I actually showed up to the auction when it was $399.00 ...I saw that "buy it now" was still available because the reserve had not been met...recently I had lost a Quadrun, a Music machine and a Cake Walk and said "what the hell".

I'm pretty jazzed about it, can't wait to get it :D
