phuzzed #1 Posted November 20, 2008 I'm a new Jaguar owner. I just received Tempest 2000 and love it. I used to have it on my PC and played it all the time. Now, I'm glad to have it again, on it's native system I did have a general question about the cartridges. I noticed that Tempest 2000 saved my score, initials, and my "key" so I can continue where I left off. Do these games have a internal battery, or is it written to some kind of non-volatile memory, whwere it doesn't require a battery? Just curious. Sayton #2 Posted November 20, 2008 Nah, it's an EEPROM thing or something like that. After 100,000 saves, that's it. From what I heard, some games MIGHT let you go over the 100k mark.
phuzzed #3 Posted November 20, 2008 Oh man, I've played Tempest two times alrady. I can only play it 99,998 more times! I figured it wasn't a battery, but wasn't sure. Thanks for answering!
Zerosquare #4 Posted November 20, 2008 Sayton is right, the cartridges have a small EEPROM memory chip inside.
