+wood_jl #5 Posted December 20, 2008 What a great deal....now it's $179, and here's excerpts from THE VERY SALE PAGE in the link..... [1] ...the console was very dirty, scratched, and just not very nice looking. The headset that came with the 360 was broken upon arrival, the jack was bent and it was missing the tip. And just recently I was trying to hook my iPod up to it, and I realized that the right USB port in the front of the system was broken, totally mangled and completely unusable [2] Be Aware, Mine was shipped with the Wrong Power Brick, I had to call the company who refurbishes the Xbox Units and they are shipping me the correct power block (Or So I hope.) [3] Our HD AV cable had white paint spots on it and feels very used, the headset is also worn looking and the foam pieces look like they are sun bleached, and the System we recieved has a different fan in it with a white LED bulb like in custom pc's mods which subsequently makes more noise and now has a faint glow, unlike my previous system. [4] unfortunately soon (2 hours) after purchasing and setting up my brand new (''quality'' refurbished) X-Box 360 I had the beloved red rings of death. TigerDirect is standing behind the product and offered a quick and easy RMA but still has not received another unit from their refurbished unit partner to replace mine. Sounds like a GREAT deal.....and a generous 30-day warranty too!!!
Wickeycolumbus #6 Posted December 20, 2008 Thats a great deal, and you cant beat the shipping, but I think I would pay the extra $50 and get a new arcade model even though it does not have a hard drive.

I've got a headset sealed in a bag that the foam bleached out on. LOL at the light mod fan.

+wood_jl #9 Posted December 20, 2008 . . . I like how the term "refurbish" has been totally shit on by the advertising cretins (little bit of Carlin there for those of you sharp enuf to know) to the point that it means "sell this piece of shit again as-is." To use more Carlin, whenever you see the term "refurbished" it means they feel too full-of-shit to say "remanufactured," and even if they say that, they're pulling your prick because it's been USED or more properly ABUSED - because if it hadn't, the irresponsible person who originally bought it would have been able to afford to keep it. Of course, it's all in good fun.....in seeing the bullshit offers and observing the willing suckers.
STGuy1040 #10 Posted December 22, 2008 The consumer reviews make this deal look less attractive in my opinion. I hate Fleabay, but I have seen Xbox 360 systems (with games) sell for $149.99 with free shipping. I'm not downplaying the offer at Tiger Direct, but it sounds like their partner is just slapping crap together and not paying any attention.

What what do you think you're buying off of fleabay and how much trouble will you go through to get a working one/your money back when, surprize-surprize, it doesn't work when you get it? Chickybaby #12 Posted December 22, 2008 I thinkas much as I hate to say it, at this point I am staying away from 360s indefinitely unless someone gives me a working one with games for free. Too many hassles and at I don't feel that the RROD has been addressed by Mocrosoft properly besides other issues. I'm getting the feeling I'll wait for the next gen and hope it's not only better quality but is backwards compatible at least to the ps3/360 point. Sure nothing is guaranteed in life except death and electronics do break all the time but No one IMO should have to shell out 150+ dollars for something that is just breaking randomly - it's a lot of money for such bs. I never said the systems on Ebay would be any different, I said for the same price you can get a system with games. Edit: I just wanted to add that the chances are still the same no matter who you buy from in this case, but if you're going to do it, you might as well get some games and free shipping in the process. Emehr #14 Posted December 22, 2008 As unreliable as the 360s are, I wouldn't take a chance buying used. No way. No how. I'm hesitant to buy one new, 3-year warranty or not. Until they fix the problem (not put a Band-Aid on it, which is what the warranty is), I don't see a 360 in my future.

It has a 3 year warranty...that should cover you until the thing reaches end of life...then you can move on to the next system I doubt anyone will be making games for the xbox 360 in another 4 years or so. The classics I'll keep forever. The more recent systems are basically disposable...or at least they seem to be built to be disposable, rather than last forever. I still have a PS1, but haven't touched it in 10 years, and probably never will again. I barely have time to play all the current gen stuff with a sprinkling of 2600 too...let alone fire up a PS1
