Killer Instinct Prototype? Maybe?

I picked up a copy of killer instinct today but it was in a grey shell cart case not in the standard black case. Along with that the lable was different

Yeah, I doubt it's a proto. It could be demo cartridge or a pirate.

So far all it reviels is that its the same game, the cart has some "standard-issue" phillips on them I'll try to crack the cart ope and see whats inside

Opened her up just to find pretty standard SNES board, but then why do you explain the fancy "GLOSSY" original lable!!

 

In guessing either a demo cart or just some kid whose cart case crapped and he swapped them out

Only difference is that the original board is like a brownish tint while the other is green
