Impaler_26 #4 Posted November 26, 2008 Yep, get a Colecovision. It's cheaper than a Jaguar and there are a lot of great games for it. Most of the Jaguar games are crap or mediocre (with a few exceptions like Tempest 2000, Iron Soldier I+II, AVP) and the homebrews are good but IMO too expensive. guitarmas #5 Posted November 26, 2008 I used to have a Jaguar with about 40 or so games. I've never played a ColecoVision but I can tell you that a Jaguar...stinks.

The only thing 'classic' about Jaguar are the commercials. lol OR the frustration of having watched Atari botch yet another great concept. I had every_single_commercial game ever released for the Jag and CD toilet add on including Iron Soldier II, World Tour Racing, Air Cars, Zero 5, Battlesphere & Towers II. Whoops, I guess I didn't have the overpriced Telegames Worms - but who cares... had the various Worms incarnates for the Miggy years ago! Got rid of ALL my Jag stuff around the time individual developers were releasing their wares @ $70, $80, $90+ a pop. Games, demos, whatever - finished or not. YIKES and a resounding NO THANKS!! It is my opinion that a Jaguar system takes up more real estate on a table than it's worth Edited November 26, 2008 by save2600

It is my opinion that a Jaguar system takes up more real estate on a table than it's worth Yes, the Jaguar is definitely for someone besides me. I have tried on many occasions to enjoy the Jaguar. I'm just not a Jaguar fan I suppose. I was considering purchasing Battlesphere in the future, but $500 to take a chance on a game for a system whose games are prominently known to stink, I think I will pass. I passed every Jaguar item I own to someone else who was willing to pay what the going rates were.
+save2600 #8 Posted November 26, 2008 (edited) I can't believe what some of this stuff fetches. I sold my BS cart for about what I paid - $200. I get a kick out of these guys that'll pay ridiculous amounts of money for console systems, but still can't seem to afford a nice auto, a real arcade game, or a home to house all their junk in. lol From a gamers point of view, I make no apologies when I say that spending $500 for *any* Jag game is beyond stoooopid, even though BS *IS* one of the best carts for the system. But as most people know, that's not saying much. This topic has been beaten to death already: Those that collect to play vs. those that collect for the sake of collecting. To that end, I sort of get spending the $$$ for something, but that's precisely where my empathy ends for spending $500 on a Jag game.
