Fallout 3: Tons of 1950s nostalgia, despite being set in the future

GTA: Vice City: mid-1980s nostalgia

Bioshock: Set in 1960s, but more nostalgic for late 1940s.

Vigilante 8: 1970s

 

Surely there's more. I won't count the WW2 games, as well, it's pretty much obvious what the setting is.

Kuon (PS2) : Feudal Japan

The Red Star (PS2) : more of a historical "what if" in its context. A Russia in the 1960-1980 timeframe by the character designs... Decent Beat-em-up/shooter too.

 

At first I thought it was going to be about games that have stood the test of time surprisingly well.

Bionic Commando was kind of neat, in a WWII-with-computers kind of way. Not the way the war actually was, but how it could have been.

I remember the two Interstate games... Interstate '76 and Interstate '82.

GTA: San Andreas - early 90s grunge/gangsta rap..................still tied with Vice City as my fav GTA

 

Scarface - early....mid 80s

 

Godfather - late 40s
