Bye bye Ebay. Another one bites the dust...

Recommended Posts

And.... I'M DONE !

Since 1999 I have had 100% feedback.

I STILL HAVE 100% FEEDBACK !

About 2 weeks ago I get a nutjob.

She starts writing me about 7 days after she paid saying she was

pissed that her item didn't arrive yet.

I resent her the tracking number and it showed that I sent the item the day after she paid.

I further showed her that she had the option to have the package sent priority or parcel.

She chose parcel.

I aplogized that it was taking the USPS an unusual amount of time to get her package to her, but

unfortunately it was out of my hands.

She got her package and it took 10 days to get from the East Coast to the Midwest.

She left me a nuetral feedback and told me she gave me a 1 for shipping time in a rude angry e-mail.

The feedback even says, 'Item as described but took 10 days to get here !'.

SO...

My current SRU's are 4.8 4.8 4.6 4.7

My feedback is still 100%.

I try to list something today and I can't.

Why?

Becuase IN THE LAST 30 DAYS one of my SRU's average is below 4.1.

This nutjob leaves me 1 star because the USPS is slow and I can't sell on Ebay?

How is this fair.

To ANYONE who said that not being able to leave the buyer bad feedback is a good idea, I would love you hear your explanation

how that pertains to THIS situation.

I know I am just one of the many who have ranted about how shitty Ebay has become, and I know I am late to the party, but I just needed a place to rant.

I AM DONE !

Here's hoping that Chasethechuckwagon picks up and catches on because that's where I will be selling from now on.

Peace out boyscouts.

Regardless if you ever sell there again can it be revoked if you have proof of everything (and that she's a nutjob)?

You definitely are someone I would not hesitate to deal with and are a great person and seller.

I tried with 'Live Help'.

She 'understood how it wasn't fair.'

She also 'understood my frustration'

She told me that her feedback would not count aftet 30 days so I should be smiley and happy and just deal with it until then.

She also told me I should basically harrass people who have not left me feedback to give me happy shiny stars so I could start selling again.

Thanks for the kind words Chicky.

This is just more proof that Ebay is broken.

It has been a long time coming with crazy new fees, horrible new feedback system, etc.

This is just the straw that broke the back.

Wouldn't say them if they weren't true. :)

That is total bullshit. Some people depend on selling stuff to help feed their families and pay bills. What happens to them for those 30 days they could go hungry or even lose their home?

There have been 3 good people now that I know who have had this same problem in a matter of only a couple weeks and I am so verry sorry. All it took was one smacktart to ruin it. I guess all I can say is "Vive el Wagon!".

Hope you had a great Thanksgiving at least. I know it was a big football and family day for a lot of people.

*Huggz* to you and yours!

Great, this is just another one of the new rule changes that happens to benefit the huge sellers who sell a 1,000 items a month over the sellers who sell just a few items a month. More and more Ebay has turned it's back on the little guy. The guy who helped build this company from the ground up. Almost everything now is built to move out the small seller in bring in the big seller.

Things like

1. DSR's not lasting a year

2. 30 day suspension if you don't have a 4.1 star status in the past 30 days.

3. Discounts on the percentage Ebay takes for the for the final price for those who are powersellers.

More and more Ebay has made the message loud and clear. "All sellers are equal, just some sellers are more equal than others."

Hm, looks like it's a good idea to only allow Priority shipping from now on...

But yeah, this suspension crap is totally bogus. I can see someone selling hundreds of items a month deserving it if they drop below a 4.1 but not those who sell so little that one nutjob can completely skew their ratings.

I like the changes to the feedback system, but I completely agree that the DSR system is totally flawed. I can't believe that there is no one at ebay with an ounce of common sense to see it.

You should send an email complaint directly to the CEO. I've sent a few in the past and have always received a response. It's not likely to change anything in the short term, but it might make you feel a little better.

Too bad you can't because another new rule is that you have to offer a shipping option that is below a certain price and that price is less than the cost of Priority Mail.

@therealred5- If you are interested in selling on Ebay again you may be able to harass them in to fixing your account. The same thing just happened to my friend and something similar happened to me a few years ago before all the ridiculous new rules. Both of us were able to get our accounts reinstated by emailing and calling every Ebay contact person you can find. One of them may be sympathetic and actually help you.

Woot. Then I guess if I'm selling video games too big to send First Class, I'll have to add a nice paragraph about how long PP might take if they don't spring for Priority.

Do they enforce this new rule on lots of games?

I'm not interested in selling on Ebay anymore.

I tag sale like crazy every Saturday all summer long.

My wife and kids and I make breakfast and eat in the car and go treasure hunting.

We love it and look forward to it. I get anything video game related, the wife gets scrap booking stuff and every now and then

we get awesome bargains. (A 2 year old John Deere riding mower for $100.00 that I've used for the last 3 years, and about $1,200 worth of

pavers for $40 that I built a giant patio out of last year.)

Then, in November, I sell all the video game stuff I don't need on Ebay. I keep the stuff I don't have and sell the rest.

I use that money to pay for Christmas presents for my family and put the extra money into our vacation fund..

I don't NEED to do it. It is certainly a nice bonus and all, but I did it because it was fun.

Ebay was fun. Now it has become stressful, annoying and far too much pressure.

So I am done. 98% of the time I only sell video game stuff. So from now on, that stuff will go on the Chuckwagon.

This week is my last batch of Ebay auctions for the season. They were posted before I was slapped on the wrist for being a good seller.

So like I said, I am now a big fan of the Chuckwagon and I really hope it catches on.

Yeah we had the same bs happen to us. We got a warning about it before it could happen but still. We had been selling on ebay regularly and then were splitting the listings between ebay and CTCW Got a neutral and I assume 1 star from someone that said a sega cd was refurbished? and we did not state that in the listing. Anyhow had to jump through all these hoops email buyers for feedback etc. 99.8% + FB 4.9,4.9,4.9,4.8 dsr and we are bad sellers f them. Pulled all the video game auctions and went to CTCW

Ebay used to be a fun place, but not anymore

The forums at Ebay are full of just this kind of thing. Starting in February I have just been astounded at the short sighted changes.

It's becoming more and more obvious that Little Johnny Donohoe just doesn't want the small seller anymore. How's that workin out for ya, Johnny?

I'm so glad the Chuckwagon came along when it did. Ebay is practically chasing good sellers there with a stick and the good buyers seem to be finding us just fine. More every day!

Try this new site, nice system and feedback goes both ways like it should! It kind of like ebay was before they screwed it up and you can directly import your existing ebay auction. I may give it a go!
