IHATETHEBEARS #4 Posted December 2, 2008 You might wanna poke around Twin Galaxies http://www.twingalaxies.com/index.aspx?c=2...=3229&vi=25 Honestly, how in the hell do you score 3,000,000 points on Pac-Man??? Back in the day, I could easily get 100,000 points and roll the score. At that point, I would just quit. I did it several times, and could do it with 10 extra lives or so. But if memory serves, getting that high would take awhile - like an hour... maybe more. How the hell can you sit and play Pac-Man for over 30 hours straight? There's no pause button. How does he pee? That's insanity!

IHATETHEBEARS #7 Posted December 2, 2008 Well, he did play Journey Escape for about 3 days straight, didn't he? Or was it 80+ hours? That is dedicaton to a degree unknown to normal people. I'm far from normal. And that's way more than I'd do.
+atari2600land #8 Posted December 2, 2008 How do people play for hours at a time without needing to go to the bathroom? I've always wondered that.
Alison DeMeyer #9 Posted December 2, 2008 I finished River Raid recently, took me 8 hours or so. Since I always have to pee the only solution was to crash on purpose, and then you start off at the bridge, it's a 'sort of pause mode'. Next time I move my screen and VCS into the toilet and just play it from there.

Atarifever #14 Posted December 2, 2008 How do people play for hours at a time without needing to go to the bathroom? I've always wondered that. Most marathon gamers take advantage of pause tactics. For example, in PacMan you can put PacMan in that spot where no one can hit him, while you hit the bathroom. In Asteroids you accumulate so many ships, and collisions are so intermittent anyway, that you can just walk away for 15 minutes at a time and come back with lives to spare. Berzerk however is pure and total brutality. I assume either depends are used or one simply makes sure to go before one starts (I don't think a marathon Berzerk score take more than 8 or 12 hours anyway). That's what I did with my Halloween high score. When you drop off the kids in the "safe room," the game essentially doesn't start again until you re-enter the house. My Mom used to play 2600 Pac-Man for hours and hours on one game -- there's a bug where sometimes all the ghosts get stuck in the tunnel and won't come out until you touch one, so she'd go to the bathroom whenever that happened. The safe spot The left side of the T section beneath the ghost pen can be used as a safe spot It's the RIGHT side that's the safe spot! Even their picture shows that.. I believe for Journey Escape Todd used an empty Burger King Cup to pee in, I read that in a recent article.

I can't remember exactly where it is, but if memory serves, it was somewhere in the upper right quadrant.
