How would you try to create intentional humor on a 2600? Edited December 7, 2008 by A Sprite
ginnidog #3 Posted December 7, 2008 Hmmm.. good question Beavis & Butthead - Beavis will be in search of TP and Olio, for his bunghole The Family Guy - Stewie attempts to kill Lois, but has to contend with his other family mates, while going after Lois Ren & Stimpy - i havent thought of anything on this one yet This was just an idea, that mysteriously floated around in my brain
almightytodd #4 Posted December 8, 2008 For me, the "spirit" of the original Atari system, isn't in cartoon-type games, but in more abstract games like "surround". Video actions that didn't mimic things in the real world, but created entirely new things. I think if there's anything new I'd like to see in a 2600 game, it would be something like that. I noticed that one of the first homebrews was "Okie Dokie". It's an interesting kind of puzzle game rather than an action game. A couple of the action homebrews I like are "Elevators Amiss" and "Fall Down". Those games are a little more sophisticated and "cartoon-like" than the early 2K ROMs, but still original and fun. lucifershalo #5 Posted December 8, 2008 a surround type game where you have squares with points in it and it is the first one that is touching the box that gains the points also, what I think will be THE ULTIMATE HOMEBREW ARCADE ADAPTATION is adapting the TRON arcade game on 4 carts, one for each part (cycle race, MCP cone, spiders, tanks) and present in the lim edition box
