Is there some difference between the old VecVoice and the backwards compatibility here?

No

The original VecVoice used the GI SPO256. The SpeakJet (in the AtariVox) has the same allophone set (and a few extras), so the microcontroller (in the AtariVox+) uses a lookup table to selects them in real time (during the serial data stream).

Richard,

Are the current revisions of the Avox+ using the same switch selections? I guess my question is, is there a way to tell the difference between the one that are fixed vs the ones that had issues with some of the 7800 homebrews like the one I had where I ended up removing the PIC from it to at least work with Atari games reliably at the expense of no Vectrex support?

Where I can find documentation about flash memory protocol? How I can select/read/write pages?

I want to use the AtariVox with XE series.

There's a link to the "Programmer's Guide" in the About the AtariVox topic, in the AtariVox club. I've linked the topic here (and not the Guide itself) because there's other info there you might benefit from.

@RevEng Thanks a lot for the link.

btw: note, that PDF links don't work. Fortunately speech spec I can download directly from vendor's homepage and available zips have examples :).

You're welcome. Good luck!

The PDF links seem to work for me. Maybe it's a browser thing.
