X-mas games

Recommended Posts

Pitfall. I remember thinking it was so cool for my folks to go out of their way, into the video game section where they had no interest in being, to make sure they got the exact game I wanted. They didn't know one game from the other, and I'm sure many parents would have just grabbed whatever a salesman pushed on them. That my folks would do that meant a lot to me, and I'll never forget it.

Although technically, it was Christmas Eve. ;)

One year in particular that stands out was the year I got 5 Atari games!!

I secretly opened every one of them weeks before Xmas and played them all several times before carefully re-wrapping the packages. Suprisingly I cant remeber all of the titles. I do remember...

Space Jockey

E.T.

Cosmic Ark

I thought Space Jockey sucked even then.

Frostbite, of course :D I can remember playing that one until all hours of the morning and my Mom and Dad yelling at me every now and then go to bed! Also, I remember Wizard of Wor on Christmas. My brother and I would find a spot in the game where we could stand back to back in 2 player mode and kick some serious ass! We were almost invincible  Hmm, what shall I splurge on and get myself this Christmas?? Cheers, FB

I really only remember getting the 2600 one Christmas. Along with Space Invaders... Greatest Christmas gift ever (screw Lexus!)

Like Moycon, my brother and I snuck into one of our parents secret hiding places. One year, it was the closet, where we found CBS's Gorf! We carefully unboxed that puppy (no shrink on those back then) and played it for as long as we could one day, a week before Christmas. On Christmas day, we played and enjoyed it as if we were totally surprised!

Combat and Surround the first two I got with the VCS. I think every Xmas since had been somewhat of a let down.

I remember getting my 2600 Jr, Super Baseball, and Donkey Kong for Christmas 1987.

I believe Christmas 1988, I received Boxing, River Raid, and my step brother's (who didn't live with us) collection of about 30 games, controllers, and Atari game center.
