missioncontrol #1 Posted December 13, 2008 Only problem is it doesn't have the power cable or AV cable. Is there anything particularly I should be looking for? What type of power supply does it need? I never had one as a kid so this is my very first one. Thanks in advance for any info.
fiddlepaddle #2 Posted December 14, 2008 AV cable is just RCA to RCA (to RF modulator or coax). Power supply is totally unique. Might never find one by itself. You could build one, but it's not easy.

Looking at the power supply connector its: =============== \ GND +5/ \ +12 -5 / ======= The AV cable is just regular 75 ohm coax. If you want to do a composite mod, the "Ben Heck" mod is an easy one for beginners, except that you need to add an output stage consisting of a 47uF capacitor and 75 ohm resistor before the video jack, and take audio from the second pin down in the RF box instead of the sound chip if you want it to work with the Atari module. Greg2600 #8 Posted December 14, 2008 You can find them here and there on ebay, or post in the Atari Age Marketplace or Digital Press (www.digitpress.com) Buy/Sell forums that you are seeking one. The power supplies are notorious for being non-working, especially after all these years. Even to the point where, like me, you think the system is dead, because it outputs a black screen, rather than just snow like any other system. Another tip, if the grey fire buttons don't work, you have to get electrical contact cleaner and spray it on the contacts for them inside the controller. Fixes them right away. bah #9 Posted December 14, 2008 Recently found my own Colecovision in similar circumstances. Ebay for power supply or simply use an old PC power supply. I have taken crimp style wire splices and found that by very slightly crimping one side, they will give a snug fit onto the Colecovision pins and then crimp the other side to the correct power supply wires. This method is crude but it may get you playing faster if you have an old PC lying around. BAH
