Artlover #1 Posted December 14, 2008 Ok, so what exactly is the difference between the Datel XB360 Xport and Datel XB360 XSATA? Their site (which is really crappy since they updated it in my opinion), isn't too clear. They both seem to do the same thing and cost the same. Am I missing something? Hyper_Eye #2 Posted December 14, 2008 (edited) The xport is a standalone docking station. The xsata device goes between the 360 and the drive. So you can have the xport at the computer and just slap the hdd on to it and access it from the PC. With the xsata you will have it hooked up to the 360 and you can access it with either the PC or the 360 (but not both at the same time.) xsata: xport: Edited December 14, 2008 by Hyper_Eye
yuppicide #3 Posted December 14, 2008 (edited) Yep. I was !just! looking at them a few hours ago. I want to transfer videos off my 360 to my computer. I'm gonna get the XSATA. I wonder what format they are in and if there's something to convert them. Edited December 14, 2008 by yuppicide

It would be easier to just unplug the drive and move it then deal with stringing a USB cable across the room every time I needed to. Yep. I was !just! looking at them a few hours ago. I want to transfer videos off my 360 to my computer. I'm gonna get the XSATA. I wonder what format they are in and if there's something to convert them. It's a variation of WMV. They won't play directly either, gotta use X360 Tool to extract them. Trying to find stuff is the hard part. Nothing is named, nothing has extensions. Just cryptic numbers. Also been reading up on downloaded gamesaves. Wonder if they will work on the HDD once resigned. Everything I read says memory card. But is that just for ease of moving them around, or does it need to be via memory card. Don't see why it wouldn't work if you just copied them to the gamesave location on the HDD. +remowilliams #5 Posted December 15, 2008 Also been reading up on downloaded gamesaves. Wonder if they will work on the HDD once resigned. FWIW, when my launch 360 kicked the bucket I used my Xsata to pull all the gamesaves (360 and Xbox) and DLC off the drive and moved my profile to a memcard. When I got the replacement I put the data back and after some finagling with my account everything was good, the DLC had to be reauthorized of course. That being said, I believe there are some games that will not be able to load saves moved in that manner.

I don't understand what the point is of having the two different products though. They should have one product that can do both these things.
Shannon #8 Posted December 15, 2008 I was under the impression that any video (free or purchased) was somehow tied into your consoles ID. I had a couple I tried playing on my other xbox and it wouldn't let me do it. Only on the one it was downloaded on.
