The only game my father ever played with me was Super Breakout.

He was actually good at it too, beat me every time.

I think he really like using the paddle controller.

Today, forget about him even looking at a video game :|

Both of my parents were/are gamers. We never got a 2600 until sometime after the crash. I wasn't even alive in the 1980s so I don't know how often my parents played then. I do know that my parents liked Kaboom! (they lent their cart out to somebody and never got it back) and my mom likes Carnival. My mom still likes playing Carnival.

When the NES came out, my parents probably played it as much as us kids! My mom liked the Mario series and played a lot of Legend of Zelda and Adventure of Link - she got pretty far in those games! My dad liked Overworld, Dragon Warrior and Final Fantasy.

When we got our N64, my mom played Ocarina of Time and Tarzan, while my dad played Command and Conquer, Rainbow Six, and both 007 games.

My dad plays his PS2 daily, and loves his PC games. Once in a blue moon he drags out the NES and plays Dragon Warrior. My mom spends a fair bit of time on Pogo, and she'll sometimes join me in a 2600 game.

Hi guys,

You bet your sweet ass they did!! My parents were huge fans of the Colecovision and the NES. My father use to play Street Fighter 1 and Outrun in the Arcades with me and my brother. He was always fascinated with technology and when Starfox came out for the Super NES, he was hooked.

My mother loved the NES and we used to play Super Mario Bros, Paperboy, Wheel of Fortunate all day long.

My Father also liked the Neo-Geo to. Not because of the gameplay, but because of the large pricetag that was put of it.

His philosophy was " The best things in life aren't free!! So you want the best, your going to have to spend the money".

Anthony....

I tried to get my parents to play but they refused. I think I got my mom to play a game of pong once but that's it.

When my aunt and uncle got us the 5200 for Christmas, I remember that my dad stayed up late for a few weeks in a row playing Dig Dug. He loved that game--I should get him to try to play it again when I go home for Christmas. My mom tried it a bit and was a good sport, but not really her thing.

My father had to set up the 2600 so I could play it, at age 5 or 6 (83-85ish), and play it with me. I was terrible though. When we got the NES a few years later, he tried playing that, usually going all night on RC Pro-Am. However, he would get so annoyed playing Mike Tyson's Punchout, and then gave up entirely.

My earliest video game memories are playing rousing games of Combat with my dad. We especially liked the bouncing missile variation.

My dad played Pong and later Apple Panic on the Atari 800.

My mom got into Air Sea Battle on the 2600.

And that was all they would play. But it was nice to have them play a few.

Dad never really played the games. He liked watching me though. One of his favorite games to watch me play was BeamRider.

My mom and I used to play together all the time. We loved playing Frostbite especially.

My mom would try every once in a great while, though I suspect she was just trying to make me happy since I didn't often get to play my 2-player games. My dad would watch me a lot, but I don't recall him ever trying to play.

I brought a VCS to my parents' house when my dad retired thinking he'd have lots of time to play. Thought maybe he'd like checkers, chess, Casino (which I got off eBay for him), those type of games. I coached him thru a game of Video Checkers & it took him almost an hr to play one game, dont think he got the hang of it & most likely did it for me. He did enjoy a bit of Dreamcast Sega Marine Fishing last yr, as he's used to a fishing controller.

Mom's afraid of anything electronic, I dont recall her ever even TOUCHING the thing.

Closest I ever came was my oldest brother (of 3) played some Atari XL games w/ me like Gyruss & Decathlon.

They never did besides a few times in Combat and River Raid, and I remember my dad playing Duck Hunt with me at a cousins house around Christmas one year.

Now they play things like Pogo.com.

Back when we lived in Budapest Hungary dad got the gameboy and mom would play Tetris. Mom and dad played commander keen on our computer.

After we moved to WV we got a Sega Genesis. Mom loved to play sonic but always got stuck on this one hill.

The entire family played Mario party together on the N64. We got all three of them but unfortunately the controllers broke one by one until we had only one working one left. We have the forth but it sucks.

Just recently I have gotten in to the 2600 so me and my dad have played Frogger and space invaders.

In the early '80's my father and I played Combat, Super Breakout, and Pitfall.

It meaned a lot to me when we played them together because he's more academically minded (nerd-like) and not so much a "playful" person (but he's among the most giving people you'd meet) and sometimes i'd let him win because it usually made him smile. :D
