The things people throw away :(

Passing that ordinance won't prevent anything. It'll only create one more stupid rule to be ignored.

Exactly. They tried to stop us last year with a so-called ordinance that was supposedly in effect since i think 78. Well we called and they found out they were wrong and they can't do anything. It only refers to commercial vehicles being prohibited from picking up stuff unless they pay a $250 for permit. We go down twice a year and each time, i clear about $1000 worth in equipment.

Thanks to those who "don't" or "can't" lock their refuse, i found these on last nights run. One has a 256 mb video card which is nice since i usually only find 64 mb's. The one with the 256 video is complete and ready to load. That ones gonna me a game runner. The other one is a nice case too but only had a newer board and processor. I also found some more Wii boxes too.

LOL. WTF. I had my sound off but from what i can tell, looks retarded. I guess he's supposed to be the "real" dumpster diver. Looked like nothing but household garbage too.

Hmm. Perfectly good white boy. Well, i doubt if i would pick that up if i found one but I'd probably give him a hand getting out :)

Hi guys,

"Better off dead" was a great movie. I always wanted to race those two japanese dudes at the stop light.

I didn't exactly find this in the garbage, but in a parking lot I found a mint 80 gig PS3 box, with an unoped bag of instructions inside. People are crazy. I can get at least $20 for this. Does anyone else pick up empty boxes?

I find alot of old PCs and other PC related items such as boards and monitors all the time. I found a nice GNT-5000 PC subwoofer system outside my friend's house. All it needed was a cleaning and an adapter for a 1/8" plug. It works perfect and is really powerful. Here's a stock photo. gnt5000.gif

Gaming related items are also pretty common but usually just mean a controller here and there. One week I got lucky and opened up an old filing cabinet someone was throwing out only to find around 30 Atari 2600 games, all their booklets, a Nintendo Gameplan Poster, an Advertisement for R.O.B. and a copy of Dragon Warrior for the NES. I once found a PS1 on the side of the road with 2 controllers, all hookups, a copy of Spyro and a Gameshark. I was walking from my friend's house and across the street there was a box with a SNES (no discoloration), 2 controllers, a NES Bandai MEGA controller, and a copy of Super Mario Kart. The most recent find I had was a Colecovision controller that I found on this guy's lawn after he was evicted. At that eviction there were alot of other fun things there like a working ATV and a 2 stroke go kart that looked like it was from the 70's.

Ah it reminds me when I found a Colecovision Burgertime cart at an old abandoned P.C. Richards loading dock. From the fact that the old rusted trailers had registrations from 87 probably means that the cart was sitting out there for at least 20 years. It still works BTW.

Yeah i found the same thing next to a trash can about one town over from me. I tstill have it. Matter of fact, it's my second PS3 box, I also found a genesis box, 2600 box, Xbox 360 box, PS2 box, and a colecovision box that still had the colecovision inside. I've also found several original nes boxes.

Do you have a PS3 80 gig box? I do but it's for the new 80 gig box, and says "does not play PS2 games" on it. I need the old one.

I just recalled what one of my friends did last year at a major shopping mall. Tower records went out of business and on the last day they loaded thousands of CDs into the trash compactor... He tried to climb in there in the middle of the night, and got chased around the mall by guards. Wish I had seen it! They didn't catch him.

I found this a few day ago on the street! It´s a portable magnetophone with 30 tapes (3 are shrinkwrpped lol)!

Everything is in a pretty nice condition and the unit is very heavy and nice build! Made in Germany! :)

I think that most of you don´t know what it is so here is a wikipedia link!

I had a roomate a few years ago who was'nt afraid to go dumpster diving. I always thought it was gross(it is, looking through people's trash is very nasty):ponder: but one night I went with her to help her find some aluminum cans because we were very broke at the time. She convinced me it was worth it. I refused to go inside a dumpster tho,so I just kept look out for my friend and filled up the bags. That's where we found a working credit card slider machine thingy(never used it tho), a record collection....found a bunch of cd's that I still have in my collection.

Okay now this is very illegal lol but during that same night we found an ounce of marijuana that one of our neighbor growers threw out. It was mostly the stocks and stems but there were still alot of buds LOL. Ever since that night tho never again, but yeah it amazes me what people throw away.

about 90% of it is pure rubbish and nastiness tho, interesting smells lol.

It's a girl? Man, I find it super-sexy that a girl would be cool enough to go garbage-hunting. I'm 100% serious, BTW. Most girly-girls would find that disgusting.

Tell me about it. My wife jumps in right with me. Then again, so does her sister, my mother-in-law and a couple of others. :D

Wait until you contract a mystery illness that nearly kills you or cost your thousands of dollars in medical bills. Or wait until you get poked with a used heroin needle and contract AIDS or hepatitis C. You'll learn your lesson.
